According to the starting precept of Dr. Atkins who developed it in the seventies, the excess of weight would not be due to the fact that one eats too much, but would come rather from an imbalance of our metabolism food. This because of a bad assimilation of sugars and lipids.
In Atkins diet all sugars are removed. That these are those that the organization assimilates slowly (pastes, rice...) or those which are it more quickly (delicacies and food with sweetened savour).

Greases, on the other hand, can be consumed at will, as well as the proteins (meat, fish eggs, dairy produce not sweetened). Under these conditions, the loss of weight is at least six kilos per month.

One day standard
Breakfast: tea or coffee without sugar, a scrambled egg.
To lunch: salad of chicken to celery and lettuce, ham, cheese.
To dine: meat or fish, thin yoghourt not sweetened, neither alcohol, nor bread.

actually in the Induction phase, you can not have any yogurt only cheese and that is to a limited amount of 2-3 oz of certain cheeses.

Tima,
I’ve read your post on Atkins and I am interested in knowing more about this diet. Could you please share some Atkins recipes?
Thank you

Hi,
Sure, this form is moderated. I do not now the answer for your question but I am sure that you will get an answer from someone that had used Atkins.
I can tell you though that Aspartame is banned in some countries and I do not recommend using it.
Best.

Hi there! Although I’m not quite a beginner in dieting, I find it hard to calculate low carbs and fat cars all the time and I’m sure there are others like me. Isn’t there a list or something with specific values for each ailment? And it would be even better if there were more than one alternative menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Thanks Lela for your menu, it’s very helpful. I’m telling you guys, I get nervous only when I think of a new diet, but I would crawl up the walls to do figures for it every day Very Happy

Maybe this will help Annisse: on www.atkins.com there is a carb counter including most of the common foods. Check it out and then take a closer look whether it suits your lifestyle or not. It’s important to keep the diet as long as possible to have good results.
Here’s some examples:
0.5 cups of canned beans with pork, in sweet sauce means 26.6 total carbs, 6.6 fiber, 20.0 net carbs, 1.9 fats, 6.7 proteins and 140.5 calories.
