Effexor and Reductil..........HELP PLS |
|
|
Hi Everyone,
Firstly i am new to the forum so hello from me.
I first heard of Reductil from my brother who's partner had lost an astonishing amount of weight in such a short period of time.
I was madly jealous........im about 3-4stone overweight and have been for 4yrs now.
My weight was gained through taking andepressents......normally i am a slim person.
I was very depressed after the birth of my first son. My weight fell to 7stone 8lbs ( im 5ft 7in ). I couldnt eat and was taken into hospital with severe dehydration and had to drink fortisip drinks as i couldnt face eating food..............Anyway, as soon as my depression was discovered, i was put on Effexor XL 150mg ............my weight problem started here.
I put on 5-6stone and cant get it off.....................i am desperate.
It is a vicious circle with me. I am depressed about my weight, therefore i avoid going out ( being seen ), therefore i sit at home all the time feeling even more depressed.
I've decided to do something about it............i am in the process of weaning off my andepressents after having been on them for 6yrs. I am doing this under the doctors supervison...........
The BIG question for me is...
When i am successfully off Effexor.......how long do i have to wait before i can take Reductil?
Is there a chance Reductil may bring on my depression again?[/color[color=red]]..........This is something i am very concerned about.
When the weight is off...................WILL IT STAY OFF........or will it go back on again even if i follow a reasonably healthy diet?
Any help with these questions would be appreciated.
Thanks and good luck to everyone who is battling the bulge.

upanddownagain,
I think that the safest way would be to ask your doctor. Effexor is a prescription drug and it may have adverse reactions.
Good luck. |

Hey,
I agree you should check with your doctor firstly ofcourse. I was also on anti depressents for around 6 months and I to put on weight around 8 kilos. When I decided to come off them my doc said I needed to wait around 1 -2 months for it all to be out of my system and to see if any weight would move now that I was off the antidepess.
good luck |
