FYI!!!

I was just reading about the controversial topic of doing your cardio in the AM on an empty stomach and whether the fasted state will encourage your body to pull protein and jeapordize lean body mass or YOUR MUSCLE TISSUE.

Obviously your body does pull protein from muscles as it breaks them down and rebuilds them everyday anyway. BUT in the AM is it detrimental???

There is a nutritionist that says that if you drink a strong cup of coffee that your body will shift to burn more fat and less glycogen and that will consequently save your protein.

OF course bear in mind that you must be feeding your body the right macronutrients first and foremost or you can't win the battle of losing fat and sparing your muscle.

YEs, I'm in another obssessive phase BUT an excuse to have a cup of JOE...I'll take it!!!

Namaste,

Christine

I do not know what to say.
Some say that coffee will do you good in weight loos and some say the contrary. Both sides brings good and strong arguments. I do not know what to think. However I do not see myself not drinking a short strong Italian coffee in the morning. Its a good way to start the day.

You're funny!

I SO agree...so much conflicting evidence...we didn't even bring up inflammation.

I think I just needed an EXCUSE to bring at least ONE TINY CUP...back into the fold. It was HEAVENLY!!

....and I needed a bodybuilding nutritionist to say it is ok to delay the first of 6 square meals by 30 minutes!

Well, guys, more conflicting information Smile : it only works out with black coffee, it’s the sugar hat makes it fat friendly, I heard! Anyway, a fitness instructor once told me, exercise is most efficient not necessarily on empty stomach, but an hour after having eaten last. Also, no eating for an hour after exercise! They say fat is much faster absorbed into the body after physical activity. Wink

I read research paper and study's on this topic and other but the conclusion I have come to for weight loss and using coffee to fat more fat than muscle, and food is false. It has been going around that coffee will help your body turn to burn more fat but that is just a myths. Our body's burn carbohydrates for energy first before anything else so if you got glucose in your system it will be your energy sourde in tell it is burned up.

Have you heard of Anthony Robbins before?

He is a real good coach.

I learned from him that COFFEE is bad, bad, bad if you want to lose weight.
