Trying to stay motivated |
|
|
I started running again a week ago. My goal is a Thanksgiving Day 5K. Right now, I only run 5 minutes and walk the other 25. On alternating days, I walk the full 30 so I'm moving 30 minutes a day, 6 times a week.
I set the goal of losing 5 pounds a month (1.25 pounds a week) which is realistic but then I sabotaged myself this morning and stepped on the scale. I gained a pound.
How do I motivate myself to 1) get out of bed and walk tomorrow and 2) stay the heck away from the scale?
Thanks! |

| i can't stay off the scale either! but don't let a gain get you down, use it to motivate you to go further or run longer tommorrow! use it to push yourself to get to a higher level! jen |

Unfortunately, it's more likely to motivate me into stopping rather than inspiring new heights. I think it's the difference between 20-something and {murfle}-something.

| In that case put your scale in the attic, or lend it to a friend. |

I began weighing myself in the beginning of this journey, I have discovered that the best motivator in the entire world is to take measurements, at least once a month!
I am going to try and post a pic of the measurement model that i have always used, maybe this can assist someone else.
I hope this is able to post the pic, if I have trouble I will email to Light for assistance

That's a great help, goofy! I know I'm not consistent when I've measured in the past. I am editing to add that the one measurement that has never changed is my neck size. When I was 135# and now at 180, my neck is the same exact size.
Don't worry, jen, I'm not giving up. It's just the fat girl sense of humor! I joke at the most inappropriate times. |
