ok, this i never understood.
they say the key to weight loss is to burn more calories than you take in. carbs and fat are made up of calories. why can't we just burn them like any other calorie? and regarding low-carb diets, why are carbs and sugar stored as fat, but fat isn't stored as fat? |

Carbs: Cause your blood sugars to spike than crash as insulin is pumped into our bodies to regulate it. When we crash we get hungry Complex carbs break down slower making your blood sugar rise slower, This is the basis of the glycemic index.
Fats: Have twice as many calories per gram than any other food besides alchohol. You body uses insulin to store fat so if you eat fat with carbs your body stores it much more easily than if you eat fat with protien.
All in all your body needs fat, protien, and carbs to function properly. |
