New & Needing a Challenge |
|
|
Hello I am new here, and in looking through some of the challenges I noticed some people are using pills to help with their weight loss. And although I am sure that works with some, I personally am fearful of them, and would like to do my weight loss pill free. And I am looking for some people who are doing it, or wanting to do it that way. I want to lose 30 pounds before my 33rd birthday. Sept.28th.
Any advice would be great, I have never dieted before, or every had a regular exercise routine. And unforunately have gained 25 pounds in the last year and 1/2 and it frustrating to say the least. So any support would mean so much.
Thank You,
Tangerine |

Hi Tangerine, welcome to our board. Feel free to join one of the existing challenges, I find if we get too many going that they all seem really slow. Don't worry about not wanting to use pills, they are just a supplement to weight loss not a staple. If you are looking for help with your diet and exercise, just post what you are doing now, and we will tell you where you may be going wrong, or some hints that may help you |

Well, I am unsure where to start to be honest. I have read through some stuff on here and it looks like everyone is doing different things, which confuses me more on what I should be doing. Fish oil, green tea, weight training? Its all really new to me.
I am agoraphobic due to having panic disorder so I cannot go to a gym, or walk very far from the house. I am working on getting out again as well. I have purchased many exercise dvd's denise austin "walk a mile" , tae bo, pilates, yoga, dance pad, and small stair stepper and a mini bicycle thing. Seems like I have bought it all, which only tells me I am lacking the motivation, or something. I'm not quite sure. But the weight is becoming unhealthy for me and needs to come off. Not to mention what its doing to my self esteem, and beating myself up because I cant muster the energy, motivation, and commitment as well as not being visually happy with myself.
So any help with what I should do, when , and how long, and what I should be eating would be really appreciated.
Thanks so much

I think everyone here knows how hard the motivation thing is Some of the best advice I have been given is look at it like a job that you have to do. We don't skip work because we don't feel like doing it (well at least not too often) so you shouldn't skip your workouts. Try slowly incorperating things into your life instead of deciding to go all out. Little things like eating smaller portions, doing a 5 min commercial workout, drinking more water, and eating more unprocessed food.
If you haven't already a food journal is very helpful to keeping you on track. I have just started using www.fitday.com and it works great to figure out how many calories you have eaten and what portions of carbs, protien, and fat. |

You do not need diet pills do loose weight. Lots of people are doing it without them. However this forum tries to give independent reviews to people who decide to use them.
The first thing you need to do is to get documented. Learn how your body works, basic principles of nutrition, basic training routines. You will need to learn how to increase your metabolism and ear healthy.
Here are a few tips you can consider:
1. Increase your metabolism
- eat a big breakfast, this will give your body fuel and start your engines
- add lots of fruits to your breakfast, fruits contains sweets and glucose, this gives you energy to start the day off
- eat 5-6 times per day, eat smaller portions of food. Your digestion will be working all day, your body will not get into a starvation mode.
- do any kind of activity that raises your pulse. Go to the gym, swim, walk, run...
2. Eating healthy
- Avoid junk food, bread, pastas, pizza, sweets, fat meat.
- Use olive oil, its a great antioxidant
- Drink green tee, great antioxidant and energiser
- Fruits and vegetables should be on your plate at every meal...
I will do a bigger list with this sort of advices and post it out.
Hope it helps,
All the best,
Light. |
