I dont think that is healthy. I am pretty sure you should only lose at an average 1-2 pounds a week. Why do you need to lose so much so fast?

WOW 40 pounds that is way too much i mean the most i lost in one month was 12 pounds and that was way back in january when i first started my weight loss...plus i took the lipovarin pills but i stopped the first two weeks after i started....becus i seen that i was just losing so i thought to try it own my own instead of the pills and so far to this date i have lost a total of 42 pounds....so it took me with the excercises and cutting back on bad food 5 months to loose 42 pounds again just like tang said why so much in 1 month?

It may be possible but it will surely have bad effects on your overall health. Please take it slowly. The results will last and your health will not be affected.

Good luck.

That's awfully quick for one month.

I'm not so sure that you would want to do that, that's awfully dangerous.
Yo-Yo dieting wreaks havoc on your internal organs -especially the heart.
Trying to do that is not very smart.

Liposuction I guess, but the excess skin will be horrible to look at. I saw a woman swimming with it on t.v., and it looked disgusting, to be honest.

Plus then she had to go through the pain of removing it, which could leave you with scars.

---------------

You probably want to lose the weight before a BIG occasion, but by starting right now you'll lose a lot (at least a bit) anyway, so you'll already look and feel A LOT better. People will notice and definitely make comments.

No way you could do that sorry! The normal amount of weight you can afford to lose without risking your health per month is only 4 pounds...so ten times that sum:shock: ...you could kill yourself! Why are you so hasty about it anyway?

Hi Renne,

The recommended safe weight loss for the average person is 1-2lbs a week (think about it - that's a whopping 52-104lbs a year!).

That's pretty much all the fat that your body can metabolise in that period of time. As anyone who has ever dieted will tell you, you may well lose more than that in the first week or two, but that will be mainly water.

Rapid weight loss is not a good idea as you'll tend to lose muscle, which is responsible for most of the calories your body burns each day. Kind of defeats the object, really.

The longer it takes to lose the weight, the more likely it is to stay off.

Set yourself a realistic goal, find a healthy weight loss programme that you think you may stick to, build some regular exercise into your weekly schedule and change some of the lifestyle habits that caused the weight gain in the first place.

No matter how many new fads and gimmicks come along the basic principles of weight loss remain - a healthy balanced diet and exercise with a healthy dose of perseverence and patience will get you there in the end!

Take care and take your time, Renne! Wink

Yes its possibe, lots of water, B6 & 12 injects every other day on a no carb high protein 700 calorie a day diet. Exercise and again the more water the better, have an apple a day, two severing of protein 100gs, and veg. Thats it thats the answer

This sounds like really bad advice to me, believe me the previous posts are right. The only safe and permanant way is slowly but surely. I've lost 24lbs so far but it's taken me 3 months. I feel and look a lot healthier, I still have a way to go but this program I am doing is definitely the one for me. It helps you to trick your metabolism into burning more fat. I wasn't too keen on some of the recipes though so I researched my own and have posted them on my blog. If interested it's at burnthefattips.blogspot.com

Good Luck Jan

40lbs, yes, but 40 lbs of fat, I don't think so. You'd have to restrict your calories to no more than 1100 and you'd have to burn that and some. 40 lbs in 30 days... 1 lb of fat is 3500 calories, so you'd need to burn a total of 4667 calories to burn a day, not including the 1100 or more you eat. So if you ate 1100 calories and had to burn 4667 extra, you'd need to burn a total of 5767 calories a day.

Does that make any sense to you? If not, just PM me and I'll try to explain it better.

That was my post, sorry. I have a thread about calculations... the same thing I was showing you... if you'd be interested, check it out. It also tells you how to figure out how much water you should drink.

It's not 4 lbs. It's 2 lbs a week, so 8 lbs, but on The Biggest Loser, they lose more than that and they all seem to be much healthier... However, that is quite a bit in such little time. Perhaps you should aim for 15...
