My funny Meridia Story |
|
|
My mom bought some Meridia online (I am sure it was generic b/c it was coming from India). Ephedra was banned and I wanted to lose a few lbs, as I still do. Phentermine (also bought online) made me feel awful - couldn't sleep, nasty taste in mouth - hadn't worked, so I tried the Meridia.
I took one around noon. At 5pm, my husband and I went to this little Mexican bistro. I was hungry, wondering why the Meridia was not making me feel "full." Well, I ate (I remember it exactly) 1/2 of a taquito, one spoonful of beans, and three tortilla chips, and by that point I had to go home b/c I felt fit to burst!
No, it was worse than that - I felt like I had swallowed a buffalo whole LOL!
Since it was capsules I could not divide the dosage in half, so I never took it again.
-The End
Actually, ephedra notwithstanding, I would have to say that Meridia worked much better than Phentermine. I just couldn't take feeling like I had eaten a 12 course meal LOL!
Good Luck to those who decide to try it |

Thanx for sharing Cadence.
I am not sure if the generic Meridia works as the brand name does. If you got if from India it was surely generic. |

Hey There Light,
Oh I am sure it was generic, and, I do not know if it would have worked differently had it been the actual brand name. It did do what it was supposed to by making me feel full, but I just felt too full. A smaller dose would be wonderful for me if they made it, which they don't. My mother was not able to take it in the end either b/c it was making her migraine condition worse - she got many more headaches with it. |

That's a really good question, and, I don't remember, but since my mom ordered it, and she is way bigger than me it stands to reason that she may have gotten one of the larger doses. I may try the 5mg sometime - I think Meridia has potential, for me anyway. I do realize we're all different and like different things b/c of the way they work for us |

Cadence,
The dosage is calculated after your BMF. You really need to see a doctor. He is the only one how can prescribe you the right dosage and will give you a prescription that will guarantee you that you will get brand name Meridia.
Good luck. |

There is another brand call Reductil, manufactured by Abbott USA.
It has 10mg and 15mg. |
