Hey everyone im a 5'5 male, i used to be around 14 stone 9 months ago now im 9.5 stone. I was hoping for a more toned stomach but it just looks saggy Sad

Here are some pictures of me ..

1. This is the problem, my skin is now slack due to all the weight loss. This is me bending over into a mirror and took a picture. When i bend down like this my stomach just weighs and it looks awful.

2. This is me sitting down on the floor and took a picture in the mirror,

3. This is me standing straight

4. This is a closeup of the bottom of my stomach.

5. if i workout my stomach e.g. a full ab workout will i be able to life the higher ab muscles in my stomach to make my stomach appear thinner?
This is an example of what i mean, where im holding the top of my ab muscles.

Do you think i need surgry to fix my problem?
Should i loose more weight to fix my problem?
Should i tone up .e.g full ab workout?

Please any suggesstions

The skin takes alot longer to reshape than the rest of your body. I wouldn't consider surgery until you have been at a stable weight for at least a year preferably two so that your skin has a chance to rebound.

In the meantime I would recommend doing some weighted ab exercises to tone the muscle under the skin and using a firming lotion to help your skin rebound. Also plenty of water is important as you skin needs water to help with the elasticity. Getting some sun on your stomach would probably also help as tanning the skin helps heal scars (I'm not talking about roasting yourself all summer, just a day or two out at the beach or in the garden)

A full ab workout will definantly help as you will help fill the skin with muscle instead of fat. Losing more weight should also help, but concentrate on losing fat while gaining muscle if you want a tight toned look. Too often people hear that you can't spot reduce so they only use diet and cardio to lose weight than are dissapointed when they are at thier goal weight but still don't have muscle to show off after they remove the layer of fat.

Try adding some variety to your ab workout. Do you use the ab roller because of back problems or just because? If you don't need it I wouldn't rely on it too much. You need to do a variety of ab exercises if you want to tighten and train your entire abdominal section. Crunches, planks, sidebends and even pushups are all good. Another one that I found is a great stomach workout is hulla hooping (depending on your personality you may want to make sure you have privacy for this one) Also if you are training your abs don't forget to train your back as well or you can end up with some serious back problems.

I have a copy of 8 minute abs on my pc which i follow through but i use it rarely. I find the workout on the video tiring and give up. It seems a good workout though i should try to use it more.

Im willing to share it if anyone wants a copy.

I think that weight lifting would do you good. I think that the skin and tissue will adjust to your new size in time.
Change your ads routines, your muscles adapt quickly to your training routines. Change your exercises and number of repetitions from training to training. This should tonify them.

The ab roller you use is good because it protects your spine and controls your movement. The bad part is that it does not work out all the muscles. Use a Swiss Ball, the Swiss Ball will allow you to protect your back and also keep your abs under total pressure. The Swiss Ball will force you to keep your equilibrium while you are working - this involves keeping under pressure lots of other small ab and back muscles.

"Should i tone up .e.g full ab workout?" You should tone up your whole body.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Lots of ab exercises and you will probably need surgery to get rid of the extra skin.
