I have this question: is Max Plank Diet conceived by the Max Planck Institute in Munich or not? 'Cause I've found some documentation on the Internet that says the Institute doesn't recognize it. I'd appreciate your answers very much, 'cause this sounds like a great way to lose weight, but I'm afraid it's a fraud. I'd like to know it has a scientific reason. Thanks!

Hi, Arissa! I've been looking for Max Plank diet plan on the net and I've found various articles.
I think you mentioned one in your post, because spokespersons at the institute say they have nothing to do with it. Guess it's clear enough this is some coincidence or worse.

Max Plank Diet is based on the idea that metabolism changes and creates an energetic circle that prevents fats to deposit on the body. The diet strictly forbids alcohol consumption and any other type of salt but diet salt. Besides, it is important to drink at least 2 l of water daily and to avoid any type of soda or sweet drinks. They say this diet burns fat and gives energy instead. Here goes:
Monday: Breakfast: One simple cup of coffee.
Lunch: 2 hard boiled eggs and boiled spinach. Bread is excluded.
Dinner: One large slice of grilled beef with green salad and celery. Bread is forbidden.

Tuesday: Breakfast: One simple cup of coffee.
Lunch: One large slice of grilled beef with green salad and fruit. Bread is forbidden.
Dinner: Prague ham, as much as you want, and no bread.

Wednesday: Breakfast: One simple cup of coffee and 50g of black bread.
Lunch: 2 hard boiled eggs with green salad and tomatoes.
Dinner: Prague ham, as much as you want, and green salad.

Thursday: Breakfast: One simple cup of coffee and 50g of black bread.
Lunch: 1 egg, boiled carrots and Schweitzer.
Dinner: Yoghurt and fruit.

Friday: Breakfast: One simple cup of coffee, and carrots mixed with lemon juice.
Lunch: Boiled fish and tomatoes, as much as you can eat.
Dinner: 2 hard boiled eggs and carrots.

Saturday: Breakfast: One simple cup of coffee and 50g of black bread.
Lunch: Grilled chicken.
Dinner: 2 hard boiled eggs and carrots.

Sunday: Breakfast: Lemon tea.
Lunch: 1slice of grilled beef and fruit.
Dinner: your favorite food.

Sweets and alcohol are completely forbidden. You do the diet another week, without replacing any of the ingredients. That's pretty much it. Good luck if you want to try it!

Max Plank diet is more popular as The Spartan Diet. Its guiding principle is that metabolism changes and leads to weight loss by adopting an albumins rich regimen and giving up as much as possible on carbon hydrates. As you may have noticed fruit and vegetables are almost completely excluded from the program and cholesterol may increase. The weight loss is definitely real, but so is the come back, unfortunately. Wouldn't recommend it!

I think you may have a problem with reading....
Fruit/Salad/Vegetables are included DAILY... e.g. on day 1 you will have spinach, salad and fruit

Hey Arissa,

That diet sounds really unhealthy I remember my 2 year old son eating more than that when he was growing up, doesn't sound like your getting enough calories for healthy weight loss, sounds like your giving your body just enough to stay alive IF THAT.

Day 1, 2 and 7 all your going to have is a cup of coffee or tea and how is that going to kick start your metabolism, caffeine is a stimulate and is not a healthy way to increase your metabolism because it also increases everything else in the body heart rate, breathing, and organs working extra hard that's why doctors are telling people to cut back on caffeine because by itself it is not good for the body.  Now I have read that with some carbs or protein and low amounts it is good for weight loss or control.

Yes I do believe that the weight lose would be fast because your losing everything under your skin including lean muscle mass.

I'm no doctor but I have done a lot of research and that just doesn't sound like a good diet to follow.

Ive been on the Max Planck diet for 4 days today and have already lost 3kg and feel great. It feels asif my stomach has started to shrink a bit. I had low fat plain yoghurt and fruit for supper and actually felt satisfied with only a small quantity.

I did this diet 12 years ago and lost 7kg permanently for 4 years. I did effect a lifestyle change in terms of eating though. I picked up 4kg over the last 3 years though.
I completed it again a month ago and have lost 9kg, hopefully permanently. Worked for me...
It is a very tough diet to follow, but if you stick to it, the results are well worth the effort. I found the 3rd, 4th and 5th day the worst. But get through them and you're OK.
