In the past few months, I've gained several pounds that has to be due to stress. I don't eat a lot more but my jeans barely fit! Confused I can't take my Herbalean because I'm on an anti-anxiety medication. So, I'm trying to eat healthier with small meals and snacks every 3 hours. I feel like I'm eating all the time!

One big change is that I'm now eating oatmeal for breakfast. I've been eating it every morning for about a week. I eat either Quaker oats (not instant) or steel cut oats. I know it fills me up but it's so high in carbs! I think I'm making a good choice. Any thoughts?

I think you're doing it right. Small portions at short intervals keep you away from getting hungry and craving for fattening stuff. Besides, oats are indeed full of carbs. Having it for breakfast, gives body back the energy lost during sleeping. Yet, you shouldn't neglect other nutrients your body needs to stay healthy.

The carbs aren't such a big deal because it's morning. You will definitely burn them before they turn to fat unless you're eating 5 pounds worth of oat meal.

I personally don't like the small meal thing because it consumes too much of your life. It helps with digestion and keeps your metbolism working a little harder throughout the day, but as long as you eat less calories than you burn, you will lose weight.
