Hello, found this forum and thought I would add in my experience. I am a 37yr old male and started taking Reductil in September starting out with 15 mgs but then reduced to 10mgs a month later.
I took it for 3 months then decided to stop for a few weeks.
I weighed 126 kgs when I first started taking it and now weigh 106 kgs.
I lost 20 kgs in 3 months losing an average of around 2 kgs a week. I probably would have lost more than this but had slight weight gains here and there due to enjoying myself to much at xmas partys etc. (I will be glad when January comes and all that is over.)
I didnt have any real side effects just ad ry mouth and a slight headache for the first two days until I got used to them. But I think they work really well in helping you to eat a lot less. They also keep your mtabolism going which gives you more eneregy throughout the day.
I go walking everyday on the beach after work with my wife for up to an hour and I also use a weight machine to do some muscle building.
I have started back on Reductil as I want to get down to around 90 kgs.

Hi - also on Reductil 15mg. Just gone into the 3rd week and up to 6.5kg lost. Side effects were minimal with a really bad headache for the 1st few days, dry mouth and not sleeping as much. The biggest plus is that just seeing the loss on the scales motivates you to do more - it's like saving, once you've got some money in the bank you don't want to spend it... just watch it go up. Well, I am loving watching the scales go down!! Reductil is not a magic wand - it is an appetite suppressant and to be quite honest, I have to remind myself to eat. When I do I find that I am fuller sooner. I know all too well that it's really hard to keep going when you are putting in so much work and nothing is happening - and Reductil just gives you that little push start which is all we need sometimes. Be very careful if you have blood pressure issues though - this drug is completely unsuitable and have seen 1st hand what it can do to someone with high blood pressure (not me). And for all you ladies out there... remember we are women and it is completely natural to carry fluid... it's the body's way of protecting/cushioning us so we can have babies. Sometimes a 1.5kg weight gain overnight is all water. Here's my last tip - A deli roll from McDonalds contains more kilojoules than a Big Mac my friends - the only difference is there's a bit less fat.... just buy the apples and a skinny latte - save yourself 725kj. Much love and inspiration in your quest to lose weight.
just wanted to add to the previous post... I work hard too! Gym 3 times a week plus a run/walk every other day. Weights are a must - you need to build that muscle. A V8 motor car has big muscle while a 4 cylinder is less muscly. The V8 burns more fuel just sitting in the garage idling for 2 hours than the 4 cylinder driving around for 2 hours. Turn yourself into a V8 and burn extra fuel without doing a thing! Play smart then you don't have to play hard.
I found Reductil worked well for me.
My appetite was considerably reduced and i for some strange reason i didn't feel like "bad" food (takeaway ect.) hardly ever and my meals were cut down to approximately a 1/4 - 1/3 of what they would have been pre- Reductil.
My whole diet changed and i didn't even try to eat healthy it just happened i had no cravings for sugary drinks, or fatty foods - Im assuming it was due to the reductil.
I had a lot more energy and actually felt better when i had exercised and WANTED to exercise- ( i did absolutely NO exercise before reductil and had no want to exercise either...basically i was pretty lazy)
I would spend and hour doing moderate levels of cardio at the gym most days of the week as it helped burn up some of the extra energy..
After approximately 10-12 weeks i went from 89kgs down to 69kgs
I exercised and ate healthy..... a tip that helped me when i was on reductil - you feel better if you eat ...you tend to loose your appetite that much that you will just not eat at times which made me feel nauseous so i would have a small snack in between meals and i felt great.
Side effects that i experienced: Dry mouth, dizziness, nausea, thirst, hot flushes, head aches, shakes/ trembling, jittery, loss of concentration, flittery conversation (not being able to focus on one topic tended to float in and out of conversation), sleeplessness, vivid dreams and nightmares, anxiety, a touch of depression.
These Side effects lasted approximately for the first 2-3 weeks,
after that the only side effects that i noticed was the thirst, dry mouth and a little nausea if i didnt eat enough through out the day
im looking for ideas on what to eat before i begin taking reductil which my doctor prescribed for me
