Dawn,
I perfectly know how you feel, I also sit in front of my PC 8-10 hours per day. I did not found any good exercises to do in front of my desk. I have a Swiss ball and sometimes relax on it, do abs or just roll my back on it... |

You can do reverse crunches on your seat. (lean back slightly on a seat, careful not to fall back, and lift the knees up in front of you. Do 20 reps and rest and repeat 3 times. |

| i know one. you can put you hands on the edge of your seat and do tricep dips. Dip your bottom towards the ground making sure your body is not too far away from the seat (your bottom should just miss the edge of the seat). Your feet should be on the ground in front of you so that your knees are bent more than 45 degrees. Make sure your seat isn't a mobile one. To make it harder you can place your feet further away from your body. |

| I know the exercise you are referring to. It can be done easily. I do it sometimes at the gym. It its done right you will pomp quite some blood to your triceps. |

I think someone already mentioned dips. Those are great. So is sitting on an exercise ball while you work.
Also, you can easily exercise your calf muscles while sitting. Just raise your knees as if you're standing on tip toe and hold for 30 seconds. Then lift your toes off the ground as high as you can, keeping your heels on the ground and hold for 30 seconds. You can repeat in sets or alternate.
There are a variety of arm exercises you can do without getting up as well. The most basic is probably holding out your arms and moving them in circles (small, big, forward, backward). If you keep dumbells near your desk, you can also do any weight exercise that only involves the arms and doesn't require you to stand (bicep curls, etc).
I've also seen specially designed cycle machines that are small enough to fit under a desk so you can push pedals while you work. Standing while you work also allows you to do a greater range of exercises, like hamstring curls, knee raises, and squats.
Another random tip is to try to start a fidgeting habit while at the desk. You can actually burn a lot of calories just by shaking your feet or something else small and unobtrusive.
Good luck with this! |

| Those swiss balls or inflatable balls are great for sitting on while your in front of the computer because they help you burn calories even when you are doing nothing. This happens because your body is constantly working your stabilizer muscles to keep you from falling off the ball. |
