breakfast recommendations? |
|
|
i'm lactose intollerant and also have a very weak stomach besides. it seems in the morning this is much more prominent. foods like bacon or scrambled eggs are just too intense in the morning, and i can't have the more obvious healthy substitutes such as cereal or yogurt because of the milk.
for the past two years i've been eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for breakfast, almost exclusively. ocassionally i'll have a banana with that, but that sometimes gives me a stomach ache, as if i've eaten too much.
i'm sure peanut butter isn't the healthiest diet choice out there, and the milk used in bread (yes, i seem to be especially sensitive to sandwich bread) has cut down my choices to a certain brand of white bread. can i get any other recommendations for breakfast foods? |

Peanut butter contains lots of calories but it also contains the Omega 3 oil - the "good fat". Have you tried integral bread? The integral bread have a bigger fibre content.
You can try to add ore fruits to your breakfast. Grapes, apples, oranges, grapefruits... they are full of vitamins and fructose. This will give you a nice energy boost.
For the last 2 month I've switched from a regular breakfast, eggs and cereals, to a lighter breakfast made out of fresh squeezed apple+carrots juice and a big salad containing nuts, oranges, chicken breast.
You posted a very good question. I am sure that this will turn out into a nice thread and you will get lots of tips fro mother forum users. |

| I drink just a glass of orange juice with a scoop of protein powder. It's not high in calories, and does give me a feeling of being full. Plus the body needs protein and a start to the morning where it doesn't get bombarded with high calories. It needs to be turned on first. |
