well, for starters, i'm new here. i'm only 17, kinda young, but its never too early or too late to make your life a healthier one. i've struggled with my weight all my life; i was anorexic when i was really young (only 7 years old), went through a lot of therapy because my mother wasn't around when i was growing up, and its just been a real rough road over the last ten years. once this summer started, though, i was determined that before my senior year of high school i would lose the weight, get in shape, and finally feel comfortable and confident about myself for once in my life.

my boyfriend is in basic training right now for the army and while he's gone, i plan to try my hardest to slim down so that i can surprise him when he gets home in august. my main priority is to do this for myself, but i also want to do it for him, even though he tells me i don't need to because i'm perfect the way that i am. sometimes i feel like its bad for our relationship, though, because he's so satisfied with how i look and i'm not. but i'm hoping that by the time he gets back, we'll both be satisfied and we can be a stronger couple.

anyway, i started my diet on june 4th, so it'll be a week tomorrow. i've taken out a lot in my diet; i've given up soda and sweets (if you know me, that's something hard to believe) and i've been trying to drink more water and make better choices about my snacking habbits. i feel really good about myself so far. i find that i have more energy and i don't just sit around the house all day. i've been doing these workout video's i got, because i usually get board if i go to a gym or run around the block. they're fun and they really seem to be helping; they make me sweat, keep up my heartbeat, and work my muscles. i've also been taking Cylaris, just as an extra boost. so far i've lost 4 pounds, which feels great. if i keep going at this rate, though, i won't reach my goal, so starting tomorrow, i'm going to try and step it up a notch. the problem is, i also start my new full-time job tomorrow at a restaurant that serves very southern, very unhealthy food, so it's going to be tough to try and stick to this diet while being around that food all the time, but i plan on doing it. i'll be keeping track of my progress on here, though.

support and responses will be greatly appreciated Very Happy

Good for you deciding it's time to make a change Very Happy

For what it's worth you probably wont continue to see 4# a week 1-2# a week is normal. Remember even at 1-2# a week 20# by the end of summer is better than nothing.

Alot of people have been watching shows like the biggest loser thinking that they can do that type of weight loss too, but the reality is that the contestants are doctor suppervised working out 6-8 hours a day. When they hurt they just keep going, and all thier meals are planned for them for thier specific needs.

well, i've decided to stop taking cylaris. i've been taking medicine since before i started the cylaris and i've broken out in some sort of rash, so just to be safe, i've stopped taking anything all together, just to be safe. i haven't lost any more weight...now its getting harder, though because of my new job and not really having any way to bring my own choice meals for my breaks, but i'm going to figure something out, hopefully. today was my mom's birthday though, so i kinda slacked off, but i plan on burning it off with some work out videos. i got a new one yesterday, so i'm ecxided for that. i'll keep you all posted.
