Weigh in week 2's results! |
|
|
Ok, so I started Alli 2-25-08, and so far I have lost 8 pds. I only had one treatment affect and it was completely my fault. I knew that it was going to happen cuz I tested the pills to see. Yes, you will go to the bathroom more often as far as urinating and bowel release. I have IBS which keeps me constipated so taking the Alli pills and the Multivitamin (this is important to take as well) has helped to get me a little more regular. My second week my bowels were pretty smelly, but you will be just fine. Eat about 200 calories less than what it recommends for your current weight. I am suppose to eat 1800 calories a day and no more than 19 fat grams per meal. Some day's I eat 1600 calories, other day's I eat 1300. I don't keep it the same every day, but I never exceed 1600. I usually average between 20-30 fat grams total each day as well. I just added exercise of walking into my diet today also. Good luck to all of us as we all tackle our weight issues!
Start weight 198.4
Current weight 190.4 |

I am having some doubts...help! |
|
|
| Hi- I started taking Alli a few weeks ago and have had NO TREATMENT EFFECT whatsoever. I have purposely gone over several times just to see if it was working. I have no oil in the toilet, no upset stomach, nothing, nada! I have lost 8 pounds, but I dont know if I should credit that to just eating less and healthier than normal and exercising, or if Allu helped at all. I also have been going #2 a lot less than before I started the program. I am eating the same amount of veggies and fiber, but I just dont go as often and sometimes feel constipated. Sorry if this is too much info, but I am just wondering if anyone else is experiencing these same issues. I know I should not complain about not having the treatment effects, but could some people be "immune" to Alli? Please give any insight...Thanks! |

Re: OH NO I DID NOT JUST DO THIS AT THE GYM |

| SUICIDAL wrote: | OMG.... I have been taking these pills for about 3 weeks and have lost almost 15 pounds. I have done very well following fat intake (for the most part) and have been working out regularly without any sludgy side effects. Then, 3 days ago I was craving some Ben & Jerry's Cinnabun Ice Cream. I just had to have it as a treat for all my hard work. I figured I would just have a long workout session the following day. So I get to the gym change into my clothes only to find I did not bring any underwear to workout in Unfortunately, I wear long boxers and could not wear them with my gym shorts, so I thought no biggie. I lifted for about 30 minutes and got on the treadmill to run for a half hour, and thats when it happened. I was doing a sprint at about 7.0 after about 15 minutes of running. Forgeting I had no underwear on let (what I thought) was a string of bubble farts slip only to turn around to a group of young ladies screaming at me. Hearing them through my mp3 I take off my headphones and realize I had somehow shat dropping poo on the back of my shoe and on the treadmill and it was getting flicked behind me onto a couple of hotties on stationary bikes and I did not even know it. What the hell ........ Can I just die now |

Success |

I have now been using alli for 2 months and have lost 35lbs. I like the fact that it is not a stimulant, so no jitters or racing heart.
I must say that I do not follow the plan as directed always. I actually eat out a lot and do not always pick the healthiest things on the menu, I have only had 2 accidents and luckily I was at home. I walk 3 to 4 days a week (2 miles) and the weight is coming off, within the first 3 weeks I dropped 20lbs and now I am averaging about 2 to 3 lbs a week. I do not skip a pill no matter what I eat, if there is OIL in the toilet, better there than being absorbed by my body .
Since I am doing so well my girlfriend has started taking them too, some people may think this is kinda sick but we constantly laugh about TREATMENT EFFECTS and at time are disappointed if there is not oil in the toilet.
This truly has changed my life, for the first time I am not consumed by the amount of calories or fat in food. This truly needs to be a lifestyle change, just walking a few days a week is going to make a huge difference. I read some of these comments and people need to understand that it is a slow process and don't expect to be thin when you finish the first bottle. Just eat what you want and cut back on the portions.
Instead of a Big Mac combo super sized with a coke and 1 or 2 extra double cheeseburgers, order the regular combo with a diet coke. IT’S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE eat less than what you eat now and exercise a bit and you will lose weight. |

So I just finished my first week of alli and I lost 4.5 pounds. I'm following the plan VERY strictly and exercise 3-4 days per week plus a good amount of walking every day. I have not ate more than 1300 calories a day and have not ate a meal with more than 15 grams of fat. So i haven't seen any side effects or felt different at all. I'm not so sure if its the alli thats working or just the fact that I'm eating less. Hopefully I'll have the same results this week! Good luck to everyone trying, follow the plan and write EVERYTHING down...it really does help! |

newbie to allie |
|
|
| So, I have read most of these reviews regarding Allie and have decided to start today. I am quite nervous due to some of the treatment effects I have read about. And BTW Suicidal, your story cracked me up. I am a 26 yo female 5'8" 169 lbs. I hope to get down to 145 by late July. I am looking for a nice forum for support, so if anyone knows of one, please let me know. I was on a modified low carb diet for 18 months and lost 35 lbs within 6 months. I maintained it for the next year, but now I am ready to get off more. I sure hope this works. I will keep you posted. |

I tried Alli for the first time last week, but I incorporated drinking de-caf green tea to supplement the potty breaks I got mine online, the $99 price was cut by $40 so I actually pd $59... have most of you ordered online ? Or bought from CVS,Walgreens etc.? I never checked out the pricing at the stores I just like ordering online by searching for discount pricing, lowest pricing etc. |

Nervous! |
|
|
I started taking the pill today. I bought a lot of groceries yesterday that were all either fat free or reduced in fat. I'm so nervous though! I'm about 180 right now and I want to get down to 140 or so. My problem is that I'm a college student ALWAYS on the go and I never have time to cook meals. I'm so worried that I'm not gonna be able to lose the weight! I have a hard time sticking to a diet. Wish me luck!!! Please keep posting, the support for each other is awesome. |

By the way |
|
|
| This is connected the previous post......I was just goint to say that there are ALOT of things you can find at the grocery store that are fat free or under 15 grams. I bought a lot of smart ones, fruit, chicken and marinade for it, potatoes (yes you can eat potatoes), weight watcher treat things, rice cakes, fat free pudding, cereal, nutri grain bars, vegetables (corn, salad, asparagus), veggies and fat free dip, apple juice, v8 juice, etc. Point is you can get a lot! If anyone has other tips of things you can buy as well as things you can eat at fast food places and restaurants please share! |

1 week in |
|
|
kay4444 I would love to share tips and success stories (when we have them) I am one week in and let me tell you. Do NOT go over your fat grams or eat pizza...I was up all night Friday night after having two slices of thin crust pizza with pepperoni. I had horrible gas that I wouldn't dare pass for risk of ruining my sleep number bed mattress. (So, I sucked it in and didn't sleep a wink) Saturday I was miserable with a stomach ache and I definitely wouldn't dare pass the gas on purpose still. (I accidentally did once and ruined some undergarments and sweats) I wore a maxi all day and needed it. Note to self: PASS GAS AT YOUR OWN RISK!! I was only down 1 pound this morning, but I must say it was my fault. I ate low fat but didn't watch my carb intake, which is a definite key in weight loss. I am going to work harder this week at it. kay4444, I found a great site, sparkpeople.com where I can track my nutrition and fitness facts for absolutely free. I still think alli is great bc it makes you more aware of what you are putting in your mouth. And I would much rather the grease from the pizza come out rather than stay in and land on my azz. I fully believe the stories now that other people have said about their sharting experiences. I thought I would be different bc I usually find myself on the other end (stopped up). Not the case. I am going to stick with it and finish this bottle and see what happens. Good luck to everyone. I will keep you posted. |

hey, im 1 week in now and im down 2lbs yay!
oh no carolina girl! i hope the treatment effects have lessened a little! they sound terrible!
ive had completely the opposite effects im massively gassy aswell and i was finding it really hard to "go" which isnt like me as im normally quite regular! well i brought sum fibre supplements n have been having home made smoothies with as much fruit as i can fit in the blender, n the problem seems to have resolved itself.
i think this might be something to do with the fact that when i actually pay attention to what i eat n make everything fresh then my fat allowance doesnt normally go over 40gs a day, but i dunno, the weights shifting a lil, and the tablets are acting as a great incentive for me, all of my housemates are having a massive chinese takeaway tonight, but im making my own sweet n sour stir fry with microwaveable egg fried rice n prawn crackers, so i can join in but feel good about myself at the same time
good luck everyone x |
