The Wafer Thin System |

This stuff is wild! Has anyone seen how it works? You take a couple wafers twenty minutes before you eat. You drink water and it really swells up in your stomach so then you don't eat much. It was demonstrated on an infomercial on TV. It also absorbs fat and rids it from your body. There are a couple other steps to the system but I was mostly impressed with the wafers. You can check out the infomercial at www.JustLikeaLady.com . Click on Shows. It's pretty interesting. Has anyone on the forum tried it,yet? |

Interesting.
Its a good idea, basically eating lots of fibers will make you feel full. This method can work but I have no idea how this "artificial fibers" will digest and get assimilated by the body. |

So, You made me curious because I remembered the infomercial calling the fiber in the wafers "all natural". So, I watched the first half of it, again, to get the name of the fiber. The fiber is called Glucomannan. I found the following definition on Wikipedia:
Glucomannan is a water-soluble polysaccharide composing 40% by dry weight of the roots or corm of the konjac plant. Glucomannan is a dietary fiber, and has been marketed as a treatment for constipation, obesity, high cholesterol, Acne vulgaris (source) and Type 2 diabetes.
Wow, so now we know. A friend of mine just told me she was using the Waferthin System and she loves it. But, you have to get all that wafer down with a large glass of water or that stuff starts swelling up in your mouth like a big cotton pillow. UGH! |
