Is it safe to double the dose of phentermine?

It is true that phentermine does work, but after a few months of being on it it wasn't as effective. If this is the case, is it safe to take 2 37.5 mg pills or may be a pill and a half. Has anyone tried this? I hope I get a reply

You really need to talk to the doctor that prescribed Phentermine to you about this.

Per my doc - 1.5 of the 37.5 mg is ok - Don't think you want to shoot for two - you may never sleep again.

Yikes! I'd never double the dose. You're building up a tolerance to it. You're best off switching to something else for a few weeks. The one thing you can add safely is the short acting, 25mg tenuate, but I'd only add that once a day (it's normally a 3x/day dose).

Please do not mess around with Phentermine. Do not double the dose.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT double your dosage. If you feel the need to do this, then this means you are building up a tolerance to the product. Are you taking this product daily without any breaks? If so, I recommend taking the Phen for 2 weeks consecutively, then taking 1 week off. Repeat this process & see if it works better for you. This is the actual recommeded dosing for this product, as it is PROGRAMMED for lessened effects after long-term use! ALL drug companies want to their products to sell, therefore, they are created like a DRUG..the more you take it, the more you NEED it! (Think of just about any medication (perscription or OTC) that you may use: after using is for so long, don't we usually feel it simply doesn't work as well as it used to?) Don't let this happen to you. this is an excellent product, when taken correctly with control. And think of how expensive double dosing would be!!
If this does not work, you may want to try a different type of WL drug. Alternating may work for you, however, keep in mind that each type of drug will take some weaning off of. stop slowly & completely before starting a new drug. hope this helps!
