For those of you taking phen-pro...can you provide feedback? |
|
|
i know some have already filled their scripts (from dr.B) and was sifting through the long dr.branch post for some feedback. i know a few were happy with it, but wanted to know if anyone else has some feedback since starting it?
TIA |

Hi There, I just started on the program on 9/29/07- I took the prozac the first night because it was too late to that the phen portion..I then took the phen the next day- As I stated in an earlier post at first it was ok (no appetite) but no energy either..and then I skipped a day of the prozac just to see if it was making me drowsy and I did in fact seem more alert the next day- I then took the prozac night before last and the same thing ..drowsy..I have been alternating the prozac to every other night..I took the phen today and no appetite- but once again not as much energy.--I also got my pills from cvs which I dont know are defective or what but I have heard many of the others who have also gotten their pills there claim the same thing..I dont know...Maybe its the pharmacy I got them from? |

| I didn't receive the phentermine from CVS but from what I've read here, the dr does not prescribe the usual phentermine. The one you get has different markings on it. I'd really doubt that CVS would be giving out bad meds, I'm thinking these are just different than the usual phen. |

| Does anyone know which type of Phentermine Dr. B. prescribes? Should one ask for a different kind? I'd hate to waste (more) money on meds that don't work. |

I've officially been on Phen Pro for over a month now. I take them at the same time and do not feel more or less energetic either way. In general, the phen usually makes me anxious and the prozac usually makes me sluggish (when I've taken them in the past). Taken together at the same time around 11 AM, every morning. I have to say that I think it rocks, which you probably could have read already on the other thread.
If energy is an issue for you, then you could possibly talk to Dr. B about upping the dosage. I did. I got a prescription for a higher dosage of phen to take in the afternoon (I think it's an extra 10 mg of phen to tide me over til the next day), although I won't have to use them for a while. So far the appetite suppressant quality of taking the phen and pro at the same time is sufficient. I just wanted them as a back up in case that changes before I need my next refill. On the phone he said he was "flexible" with dosage, especially if you've already been taking phentermine at 37.5 mg for a while.
Also, even though people experience weight gain on anti-depressants a lot of the time, it's because of the sluggish behavior they cause. A few of them like Zoloft and Prozac actually curb the appetite a little on their own. So if you take the prozac at night, you are sacrificing some of your appetite suppressant to the time that you're asleep and wouldn't be eating anyway. Just a thought...
good luck on it! |

He just prescribes phentermine at whatever dosage (usually 37.5 mg). It's the pharmacy that controls what kind it is. Likely all pharmacies will only use one manufacturer of phentermine and that's the kind you get if you go to that pharmacy. If you're concerned about the strength and/or quality of the actual pills, call the pharmacy first and ask them what kind they sell. That way you can eliminate pharmacies that possibly sell inferior phen. I'm not entirely sure that the quality at different pharmacies would be all that different. I think the pills people get from overseas or questionable places might be old or "watered down". A regular local pharmacy would not sell you pills that are expired and certainly wouldn't tamper with them in any way.
You can go to www.drugs.com to see the different manufacturers of phen and to look at pictures of each kind of pill to make sure it's legitimate. |

| Thanks, Cowgirl. I was wondering what the phen dose he most commonly prescribes was. I read that people were complaining about the type of phen they got from CVS, which seems strange to me since it's a US pharmacy and a legal prescription. Hmmm... |

Hello all!
I am also taking the Phen-Pro combination and I really Like it! A friend of mine decided to register with the Good Dr.(turn around time was 3 days) and her Prozac was in capsule form not solid blue. We both ordered from Walgreens...In the same City, the only difference was in the location.
I also asked for the Meridian Plus 3 this time around.
Oh, I have a friend that is a Physician and according to her...some of the Pharmacies, order from overseas. So she suggest if your prescription is not doing what it should...TAKE IT BACK!
Warmest Regards,
Sinclair |

Dr B came through... |
|

Thanks Irongirl ?? for posting info on Dr B....I'm in CA and can't get phentermine anymore. I only tried it once, for 30 days. I lost about 12 lbs. I've been off for a month or so and my old habits are creaping up. I nkow that if a person really wants to lose weight, they can do it. It can be really hard to get started. I know...I lost 65 lbs in 1 year without taking anything, then I had my 2nd child and went from my new size 8 back up to a 18
I signed up with Dr. B on the 3rd of OCt....today is the 5th and I just picked up my presrciption
I paid 18 dollars and 88 cents at Costco. Amazing!
Look out sexy new me, here I come!
The time I spent waiting and reflecting on how bad I want to look good again made me realize that phentermine, although it's easy to do, cannot be an easy way out. If I truly want to be successful I have to make a conscious choice to take better care of myself and DEVELOP NEW HABITS such as making myself eat veggies and taking walks. Even if I don't feel like it.
I'm so glad to have another chance. I don't need to be "skinny" I just want to feel good in my own skin. Thanks for sharing Dr B with us.
I'll let ya'll know about the 37.5's I got from Costco.
Good luck! |

the meridian plus 3 is a higher intake (mg wise) of phen. he starts everyone off on meridian plus 2 and will adjust from there if need be. |

| ok call me stupid, but I still don't understand what Dr Bs prescription is. I know there is prozac but I've read where people say they get regular 37.5 phen, others saying it's different and has a v, now I read there is meridian 2 or a meridian 3. Does the type you get depend on your drug store? |

Day 5 |
|
|
| I picked up my script on Sunday and decided that I would start on Monday morning. I have dropped 10lbs! WOO HOO! I have been taking the Phen & Prozac in the mornings (between 8 & 10) and have been going to bed around midnight. I am feeling none of the side effects that I used to feel when I was on Phen before (jitters, hot flashes, sleeplessness) and my appetite is completely supressed. I know that most of us on here are leary about taking the Prozac, but I have been having an awesome experience. Believe it or not, my sex-drive has even increased (WOO HOO for my hubby). Has anyone else taking both experienced this? |
