Jan's Journey |
|
|
My name is Jan and I weigh started my weight loss journey at 201 pounds on November 9, 2007. We started an at-work weight watchers meeting on that date. One week later, on November 16, 2007, I had lost 6 pounds (195). We didn't have a meeting the week of Thanksgiving so my second weigh in will be this Friday, November 30th. I had some difficulty over Thanksgiving keeping on program and staying within my points. I also got out of the routine of drinking the water. On my scale at home this morning, I was only down two pounds from my last weigh-in (193) and that is not much of a loss for over a week but I'm glad I didn't gain back what I lost.

11-09-07 = 201
11-16-07 = 195
I'm trying to figure out how to draw a graph.

This morning on my scale at home, just out of the shower, I weighed 190 pounds. That means I could have a decent weight loss on Friday, November 30th at our weekly at-work Weight Watchers meeting. |

Today I weighed 189 on my scale at home (right out of the shower). On the morning before my first Weight Watcher weigh in on November 16th, I weighed 197. At the Weight Watcher's noon meeting on November 16th with clothes but no shoes, I weighed 195, for a weigh loss of 6 pounds from my beginning weight on November 9th of 201 pounds. That means I'm hoping for a good loss at tomorrow's noon meeting. If I weigh 191 fully clothed at the meeting, I will have officially lost another 4 pounds.
At our at work Weight Watcher's meeting, we have divided into two teams; a red team and a blue team. I'm on the blue team and last week we had a combined group weigh loss of 2 pounds more than the red team. This "Big Loser" type contest has been very motivational for our office. |

Well, I had a great Friday but a not so good Saturday and Sunday. It is Monday and I'm back on track.
I can't believe how much weight I gained back just by going a little crazy on the weekend !!!!!!

Today I am going to drink all of the water that Weight Watchers recommends in one day !!!!!
I have a 2 liter bottle of water sitting on my desk at work and I am going to drink most of it before I leave work today !!!!!
I had a good weigh-in last Friday at noon at the At-Work Weight Watchers meeting but I went off program on the weekend and by yesterday morning, on my scale at home, I had bounced back several pounds. I got back on program first thing yesterday morning but I want to be sure to show a good loss on Friday.
Thursday is our holiday luncheon at work but I'm not too worried about that. My problem has never really been overeating at social events. My problem is typically overeating in private late at night or on the weekends. Classic closet eating. |

You're doing a good job! Drinking all the water is so hard! I don't know how I would do it if I had to work. Too many trips to the bathroom. |

Trips to the Bathroom |

Drinking the water does mean more trips to the bathroom during the day but that is ok.
My job is very sedentary and I have to look for excuses to get up and walk around. A few trips to the bathroom can't hurt.
Thanks for your post.

Tomorrow is Weigh-In |
|
|
| We have our noon Weight Watchers At Work meeting on Fridays and tomorrow will be our 4th weigh-in. We are half way through the 8-week pre-paid program. As of last Friday, I had lost 10.8 pounds and I'm hoping for another loss tomorrow. I know that tomorrow will be my smallest loss so far but I'm just hoping for a pound or two. |

Another 0.8 pounds off !!!!!!
I know that doesn't sound like a lot for an entire week but I was happy with it. I am determined to stick with it and continue to lose.

Thanks, Light !!!
Ah, to be 25 again !!!!!
I have underwear that I've used for dust rags longer than you've been alive !!!!
You are smart to be concentrating on weight loss at your young age. You have your whole life in front of you.
I'm actually doing great. I have stayed within my points since my last weigh in and I think I'm down about three more pounds. That would put me at about 187 or so ! I'm so motivated now. I've started to wear clothes I haven't worn in a year !!!!
Thanks again for your post. Jan |

Happy New Year to anyone who reads my journal. 2007 was a very good year for me weight-wise. Mid-year I weighed 217 and lost 16 pounds going to a traditional Weight Watchers meeting with my daughter. She didn't have much to lose and she dropped out when she lost what she wanted to lose. She changed jobs and couldn't go with me to meetings and I used that as an excuse to quit as well. I stopped losing but I stayed at 201 for a couple of months.
On November 9, 2007, we started an at-work Weight Watchers class, a pre-paid program for eight weeks not counting the week following Thanksgiving. That puts week number 8 this Friday, January 4th.
So far I have lost 19.2 additional pounds for a total weight loss of 35 pounds and a current weight of 182 pounds. I am so happy I can't stand it.
I wrote a poem for the new year and I am posting it here in case anyone is interested.
Two Thousand and Eight
January One Two Thousand and Eight
This is the year I'm gonna lose weight.
I'm starting the year at one eighty two
I'll be one forty five before I get through.
I'll keep water beside me all day and all night
I'll keep a food journal and record every bite.
Instead of the elevator with claimants and reps,
To get to my office, I'll climb three flights of steps.
By February I'll be in the one seventy range
By March I'll be at one sixty and change.
In April or May I'll be near my goal
When I reach one forty five, I'll put it on hold.
June means vacation and I'll have lots of fun
I'll wear a bikini and play in the sun.
July I'll put on an Uncle Sam hat
And declare independence from my former fat.
August I may even go on a cruise
But I'll avoid deserts, tobacco and booze.
September means school and I may take some classes.
I'll buy stylish new suits and Ralph Lauren glasses.
October is scary. All that Halloween candy.
So I'll be sure to keep raw vegetables handy.
November starts holiday season again
But I'll know I have a sure-fire diet plan.
December will be anyone's guess
But I plan on wearing a sexy red dress.
I'm leaving the rest to God and to fate
But I'm hoping I'll have at lease one more date.
