I am a student in my first year, and have just arrived back at University today.

I am currently 10 and a half stone. my weight has always been a big issue for me ever since I had mild eating problems from about aged 13. which took over just about every aspect of my life. I used to be thin but I coulden't see it so therefore did not appreciate it. I used my food controlling obsession as a way of hiding from life, it made me feel special and different.

In a way it was difficult to let go of because it was part of my personality. and it left a big void which I filled with food. so in a way I guess I thought if i could not be thin i might as well be fat instead.

for the last few years my weight has spirlled upwards which is having a major dent in my self confidence, and as a result I seem to have a younger social age than my peers, and little personality

I would like to lose weight to mark the end of all this, but not in an obsessive way, but a natural healthy way. I also want to get involved with activites more and spend more time with my friends to keep busy and happy.

I would like to post everyday, to record what I have eaten, and what I have done. any advice would be much appreciated.

I will be trying to eat 6 small healthy meals of fish, fruit and vegatables, nuts etc.

I couldn't even manage one day of eating ok!
everything I eat is healthy, but I just can't seem to stop myself eating.

I had an apple for breakfast,
then smoked mackrel, cucumber, sugar snap peas and oakcakes for lunch.
but then in the afternoon I ate lots of nuts and fruit, and high calorie spirulina ginseng balls etc.

and now I feel too full to go out and see my friends.

I am never hungry, I just feel an erge to eat. I'm sure others of you have this problem, what did you do to try and overcome it?

I find myself wanting to be in situations were I can eat, for example if my mum goes out, or after a dinner party with left overs around. It is rather humiliating!

sometimes I feel like, I have tried and failed so many times, that I have given up because I don't want that feeling of failure again.

but I must stay positive! tomorrow is another day!

right so today i have eaten:

2 carrots
a couple of celery sticks
1 mango smoothie (frozen mango and orange juice)
1 tin of tuna
a handfull of seeds and brazil nuts
2 apples
1 bowl of tomato soup

thats ok. I havent done any exercise though!
