The Journey to a New Me |
|
|
Hello,
I'm 23, Male, 6FT and approximently 260LBS. My goal weight is 170LBS.
I really don't know alot about the correct methods of weightloss so if you have any advice at all I ask that you PLEASE post it up. I will appriciate it all no matter how helpful it is or isn't.
I decided today is the day I will begin to change my life. I've been overweight almost my whole life and I'm tired of it. How this will work is I'll post up what I eat and what physical activities I do. I'll welcome any suggestions and critisizm. I am currently very limited on funds and things like expensive work out equipment are kind of not within reason at the moment. I do have an old weight bench and 2 barbels.
Sunday, February 24, 2008:
As of 1:42 PM
I have ate:
1 Tuna Fish Sandwich: 1 Can Tuna, 2 Pieces of Bread, (approx) 1 TBS mayo, some minced lettuce, 2 pickle chips.
Approx 475 Calories
1 Orange
(Don't know calories)
1 Can Arizona Green Tea
Approx 210 Calories
I have physically done:
15 Pushups
EDIT: As of 8:15
2 Raw Carrots
(don't know calorie count)
1 Baked, Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast
(don't know calorie count. 300?)
2 Cups Frozen Brocolli
60 Calories
1 Serving Chicken Poblano
310 Calories
A few glasses home brewed tea. (nothing but tea bags and water)
Phyiscally:
10 more pushups (25 total)
Shovelled my walkway. (approx 100 feet)

Thanks, I value the support!
Actually I didn't skip breakfast. I've worked the nightshift for a few years now so typically my day starts a little later than most.
Anyway:
Total Calories 2/24/08 = approx. 1355 |

Hi,
Why not go for a walk? Won't cost anything and it's fantastic way to clear your head.
I have never been a terrible eater but I have recently become alot stricter on myself and it has been paying off.
I have lost 6 pounds in a month and a half without really putting any effort into it, just cutting certain foods out. I have completely given up soft drink and sweets. My weakness is beer! But I have managed to cut back on it quite a bit.
I don't think you should share your weight loss with people that you'll be seeing. It could b differnt for you but I find it doesn't help me at all and all you have is a whole heap of people watching your every move.
Then when you get a compliment on your weight lose you know its genuine.
Hope to hear from you.
Stay focused, I believe you can do it and I'd like to help you to get to your goal if you want.

After I made my post yesterday I ate an orange later on. (just though I would mention that for the sake of keeping things accurate)
02/27/08
1 egg
92 calories
1 piece of toast (nothing on it)
100 calories
1 carrot
52 calories
1 serving lemongrass chicken
230 calories
1 serving tortilla chips and salsa*
145 calories
6 oz roasted lean pork
356 calories
2 servings brocolli
60 calories
2 cans arizona green tea*
420 calories
total calories for 02/27/08 = 1455
*I know I shouldn't be eating these things but this whole diet is a world different than what I normally in and I'm not made of steel. I think as long as I'm aware I shouldn't be eating these things I learn to be able to say no completely over time.
Physically all I did today is go for a short walk but I'll do some more pushups before bed. |

well 2 days ago I walked 4 miles (which for me is a whole lot) and while my legs were only a bit soar, my feet hurt alot. I plan to make the same walk tomorrow though. I figure once my feet get a bit more tolerance to them I can start running.
thank you so much for your support. i know it's hard to tell from my empty posts but really this little bit of time has been an uphill battle for me. i'm constantly hungry and mentally i don't feel myself at all. i almost fill a bit of depression. i don't know if that's normal when on a diet but typically i'm a very positive and happy person. |

Maybe you should just start out going for short walks rather than throw yourself into it. If you go too hard too fast you're more likely to quit. One thing i have learnt is you should never be hungry on a diet. Eat 5 smaller meals aday so you don't feel so hungry between if need be. Cut back on carbs, still eat them but do things like replace white bread with wholemeal and so on. I can someties feel down when beginning a diet, i;m the kind of person that wants results the next morning and when i dont get them (which i dont because its not humanly possible!) i get really down and often give up. Once you power through the first couple of weeks you're right and you start seeing results.
My biggest tip would have to be water. Drink drink drink it! It clears your skin, gives you energy, and flushes out toxins. Fantastic for weight loss. I drink at least 2L a day. Its hard at first but i drink a glass before a meal, during a meal and after a meal. Fills you up quicker too.
Was good to hear from you! |

I did about 1500 calories yesterday.
I think I'm going to stop posting in this simply because I don't have the time to come on here every day. I am sticking with my plan and have started seeing some results. |

Cherry I think you're probably eating way, way too little for your height/weight. You'd be surprised!
Have you tried using sparkpeople.com? It's free, and can estimate what you should be eating and you can track all this stuff there much easier. |
