I haven't tried it, but I believe they quit making "Fastin" (phentermine) a few years ago, and since then an herbal suppliment company pretty much hijacked the name for their product hoping to dupe unsuspecting buyers. But I could be wrong.

Yes, the Fastin that WAS actually the drug Phentermine is no longer manufactured. The "Fastin" you see advertised now is just Phenylethylamine, which while chemically related to Phentermine, it is nowhere near as powerful as an anorectic agent. Like the people trying to hawk "PhenTRAMINE" on this board, the makers of the new Fastin are hoping people will be confused by the name and think they're purchasing real Phentermine.
I have no problems with herbal and OTC weight loss supplements as long as the makers are honest in their marketing practices.
Hey, DVM! I got over my hissy fit and am back

Did you have a hissy fit? I have always thought you to be the level headed and humorous one here
Well we all have to have hissy fits from time to time,
I know I have been guilty of those every so often, My husband and children clear out when they see hints of any such thing around here..
My husband calls them "snits"
I feel sometimes it can be therapeutic though
We all cant be angels 100% of the time, right?
Again, warmest welcome back.
I ordered Fastin and was very disappointed. I thought it was going to be very similiar to phentermine. I ended up feeling kind of lightheaded for about an hour .... and then I was left with a headache. Also, I felt no appetite supression. So Yeah- dont waste your money. There is nothing that compares to Phentermine...
I tried Lipodrene shortly after trying Fastin and I liked them much better -(still didnt compare to Phentermine)- but definately had more of an energy boost.

FATTIN? WHAT THAT?
I split the 3 bottle supply with my girlfriend at work and it came out to $69.95 a bottle. I'm certainly feeling the effects on my energy and appetite. I just take 2 in the morning and one in the afternoon. If you wikipedia the two chemicals, phentermine vs phenylethylamine, their really similar. I have a chemistry background so I'm guessing they hit on the same receptors... Anyone know more about this?

Hmmm. I'm not trying to be rude, but with a chemistry background, one would think that you would know that the chemical makeup of these two are very different. Phenylethylamine is 8 carbon atoms, 11 hydrogen atoms, and 1 nitrogen atom. Phentermine consists of 10 carbon atoms, 15 hydrogen atoms, and 1 nitrogen atom. The fact that they have the same elemental compounds does not make them all that similar. For instance, Carbon Dioxide is 1 carbon atom and 2 oxygen atoms. Carbon Monoxide is 1 carbon atom and 1 oxygen atom. Wouldn't you agree that those are two very different gases, even though they have the same basic elements? I think that it is misleading to tell people that they are really similar.

No, no rudeness taken at all!
The benzene ring is what is the similarity of importance. Take the similarities between methamphetamine and ephedrine... there are some similarities in action, however, one is just less addicting. My point was, the structure of the molecule is what merits its similarity to phentermine. Appetite suppression, mood elevation, energy, focus...
Today is the first day I have started Fastin over the counter.. I took 2 this morning around 8:30, I could feel it working about a half an hour after taking it. It's now 11 and I'm full of energy.. Cleaned my house spotless, looking for more stuff to do. On the downside, I felt sick. My stomach hurt and I felt nauseas. So I took a tums and it helped a little, but not completely gone. I will make myself eat a piece of bread, I'm just not hungery tho. I'm starting my diet today with fastin otc 5/29/09 weighing 210, my goal is 140 by christmas. I will update my weekly weigh in, to let you know how it's going.
