Hello all |

Hello to everyone, I've just stumbled upon this site while trying to find good weight loss tips and advice.
I need to loose a couple of stone, or translated to u.s it will be 45 pounds...I currently weigh 168 which is not goood. Is there any body out there that would like to do a duo diet, I know it sounds geeky or whatver but I think that it would be a cool way of giving and getting support through a diet.

Yes,
There are several weight loss changes. You can join one or start your own.
If you want to start your own, I recommend you to set up some goals and a time limit.

Oh ok, that sounds cool.
Could you give me some advice on how many pounds one should be loosing a week to be healthy?
I think the idea of doing the diet with just one other person appeals to me more, I can imagine myself just kinda fading away in a group diet.
But thats just me......

Loosing a big amount of weight in a short time is not healthy. I do not like those kind of diets. Usually after a hardcode weight loss you will have various health problems and you will gain it all back shortly.
Try a natural approach, get a good diet and go 3 or 4 times per week to the gym. Diet pills are good to suppress your appetite, increase your metabolism and give you energy to work out but do not relay on them to loose weight. You will have to do it.

No takers for a weight loss partner...well, it looks like I'll go at it alone.....I'll keep the progress posted once a week, but I'm not starting till Thursday because England are playing tomorrow night and England playing football = 8 pints. Excuses excuses excuses |

Morning Richie I just found your post
I would love to do a partner thing I agree sometimes you get lost in the crowd. The recomended weight loss by doctors is 1-2 pounds a week but I have been going by 1-2% of bodyweight as heavy people lose weight faster. I agree with starting on Thursday because this weekend was Thanksgiving in Canada and we all have to indulge sometimes
That being said I started on this board Sept 15 and was 201 pounds and I will post my new weight Thursday  |

Hi Richie!
Sorry for missing your thread. Why don't you join us in the Halloween challenge? There are still about 3 weeks left and we all inspire and encourage one another. We'd love to have you there and cheer you on to your goals.
May I ask if you are male or female? I only ask because Richie is usually short for Richard and you had mentioned that you'd like to lose about 45 pounds, which would get you to 123 pounds. That is a pretty realistic weight for a woman who is around 5'1-5'5, but a little too low for a male. Sorry if this is going over the line, I'm just one of those overly-concerned motherly types.

I'm a guy, but i'm only i'm a shorty, standing a whoping 5,5" i did one of those body weight calculator tests and it told me the following;
According to your height of 5' 5" your ideal healthy weight is 136 pounds. Your recommended weight range is between 119 and 149 pounds.
so i must of got it wrong before, we weigh in stones over here in the u.k so i'm not used to working with straight pounds.
what i'll do is get down to 135 pounds just to be cheeky hahhaa

Hi Richie,
Well I got a ways longer to go than you I want to get down to between 100-120 pounds (we'll see when I get closer I have alot of muscle so I don't know how low I want to go) I will be missing my weigh in at the gym today because I got a cold that has me completly run down but I should make it sometime this weekend  |

join our thread the weight loss challenge. thats pretty much where a bunch of us post daily and your more likely to find support there.
