Hi All,

I am glad to have found this forum!! I lost 170 pounds... and now so many people have asked me how I did it, that I am writing a book about my weight loss journey! I used self awareness, discovering who I am, and the true reasons I overate to do it, this time for good!! I thought at age 41 I was destined to be fat forever, but it is not so!!

My I AM D.I.E.T. is based upon following a four step plan:

D - Desires
I - Inner Guidance
E - Emotions
T - Thoughts

You can read about it and get on my mailing list at iam-iam-iam.com

Much love to you all, and you can do it too!

http://www.iam-iam-iam.com is my website where you can learn more about how I lost weight and found myself!

When I finally decided to lose weight for good, I put myself on my very own D.I.E.T.

D - Desire, I wrote down all my desires around being thin, i.e. I wanted to wear cute clothes, I wanted to feel good about myself, I wanted to feel healthy, etc.

I - Intuition, I used my intuition and inner guidance to find the right food plan and products that would serve and vibe with my body.

E - Emotions, Food is always an emotional thing, we all have things tied to it, whether it is starving kids in Africa, stuffing feelings down, keeping people away, feeling unworthy, etc. I identified these emotions I had around food and how I used food to feel better and worked my way into new associations with food.

T - Thoughts, I changed my thoughts about my body, about myself, and replaced these thoughts with new, healthy, high vibing thin thoughts!

That's the super short version, but that is what I did and how I lost 170 pounds. It is about finding your own self worth, discovering who you really are. And it is about tipping the emotional scales to the thin side. If you are overweight, there are reasons why, such as you stuff down your emotions with food, you use it as an excuse to not do things, etc. The idea is to identify your reasons, what you are GAINING by being overweight and rework those to having it be more beneficial to you to be thin.

I hope that helps, it is hard to explain it all in a short post... my book will be done very shortly!

OUTSTANDING!

Your logic is refreshing!

I too am writing a book for weight loss. I am pleased to see such a well reasoned and logical approach. One thing though, not everyone over eats for emotional reasons, although many people do. Today's obesity epidemic may or may not have an emotional component. That is still s subject of debate. With subtance abuse and smoking going down and over eating going up I am a bit suspect of the idea that most obese people are self-medicating with food.

I would not want to demonize food. Food is a requirement for life. I am reading a book about the neuro-science of food addiction. So far I think it is hooey but it is intriguing. It is based on theory and there are no studies backing some of the logical sounding assertions.

You went from 300 to 130 using a method that works. Your idea about changing your thinking is right on IMO.

I would like to know more about your journey from fat to fit.

This actually brings up an interesting subject.... maybe it is because less people are using drugs and smoking for emotional release, MORE are turning to food. Maybe the less people who now begin or quit to smoke are instead turning to food for self medication. Interesting thought on the obesity epedmic.

I say, FEED THE SOUL! When I am overeating, I ask myself, WHAT IS EATING AT ME? Why am I not allowing myself to be all I can be?

Weight loss is easy when you deal with the emotions and thoughts you have around food, your body and yourself first. Otherwise it becomes a game of willpower that only lasts for a while. It is better to look for lifelong changes... and the biggest part of that is FEELING WORTHY of being thin!

You can read more about my story, see more before and after photos and learn about my book that will change the way people DIET forever!

Lose weight, feel great, you can do it and you have everything you need inside of you!
