Starting on Reductil Tomorow!! |

Hey all,
Im a 20 year young mummy from the land 'down under' Australia. Im a nurse and my partner and I have a gorgeous little 2 year old girl who keeps us both really busy.
I suffer with severe Bi-Polar and I take Efexor to manage my condition however the Efexor has really affected my appetite over the last year and I have gained even MORE weight since having my daughter in August '06.
Before I fell pregnant with her I was about 70kg (154lbs) and an Australian size 10- about an American size 4 I think..... Im now an Aus size 16!!! Im so ashamed of myself. I have tried so many diets and weight loss products in the past. Nothing works for me This is my last attempt to loose the excess weight I have before I go for the surgery option.
I have this awful saggy loose fat flap from having my daughter and I REALLY hope I can get rid of it!!!!
I was wondering what time everyone takes their tablets and what you all find is the most effective way to take them. I was not advised by my pharmacist as to what time I should take them. I am a nurse and I work permanant night shift and my job is very physical- lots of heavy lifting (patients) and walking up and down halls and running all the time when the alarms go off so I do get a good bit of exercise at work.......... well, more than you would get behind a desk anyway.
Anyway, I look forward to chating with you all! |

| Quote: | | Hello, young Aussie mum! I'm really interested to read your message as I, too, am bipolar and taking Efexor, and am perpetually hungry. I take my 15mg Reductil in the morning with a drink, before breakfast, as advised, and am now coming to the end of my second week. I'm disappointed to find I'm still hungry, though pleased to discover there have been few side effects (mainly a dry mouth). I wonder if you have to get a certain level of it in your blood before you feel the benefits? (For instance, Hoodia Gordinii is said not to work as an appetite suppressant for the first two weeks, as it hs to build up in your system.) I wish you luck and feel sorry that you are 'ashamed'. The medication we are both on is, I suspect, at least partly to blame, so don't be too hard on yourself. The good news is that your body is young and will shrink back when you do lose the weight. Remember, Rome was not built in a day. (Are you aware that Reductil could trigger a manic episode in us? Watch yourself in case you get too high.) I wonder if you've tried Xenical? You will damned soon learn not to eat fat on it! Especially if you're at work. Good luck. |
