Can anyone suggest any proven ways for weight loss????? |
|
|
Hi everyone, I have been really obsessed with my weight problem. I am a 33 year old female and have gained 90lbs which makes the count to 210. I recently took out some of my summer clothes and they don’t fit me anymore!!! This is a real tragedy for me. How can I not wear the ones I adore...moreover the new look is getting me mad (with the comments from my friends). I know quite a few ways to start losing weight…….but I don’t really feel that, with so many people failing using these methods that I will make it through. Does anyone know a proven way to reduce the weight?
Please help me…..this is killing me!!! |

Hi Ankoll, hang in there!!
Losing weight is sort of a lifestyle change thing imo, but every little thing you do can help. You can start with small changes and then gradually add more.
To begin with, this might surprise you but the #1 thing I would suggest is to DRINK MORE WATER. If you drink a lot of soda -- cut it out and replace it by water and you might be surprised by the change over the next few months just from that!
But even if you don't drink soda, make sure you drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. The reason is that if you're properly hydrated, your metabolism will actually increase -- you'll start burning more calories by literally doing NOTHING. And as you change other elements of your lifestyle, all of those changes will be more effective as well.
Aside from water -- well, there are lots of things you can do, but they all boil down in some way to making changes to either your diet or exercise. Of course, some kinds of exercise are more effective than others, but for starters you might want to try some simple circuit training three times a week.
Try this: 2 minutes of jumping jacks, then 2 minutes of pushups, then 2 minutes of crunches/sit-ups. Repeat this circuit for as long as you can, and when you're done, go take a brisk walk. This way you'll work out a few muscle groups and keep your heart rate up once your muscles get tired. Your total workout should be at least 30 minutes, if you want to do more, that's great.
I didn't cover diet, but I hope that gets you started. You might be pleasantly surprised at the changes even just these two choices can make after a few months... if you want a more comprehensive plan, check out my Web site, Eliminate the Weight!
Good luck!

Don’t be sad. It’s just a common problem and the solution is a simple one. You should not take this as a disease, but rather a challenge that you can and will over come. There are many ways to got about it…….but its just as you said…..the failures are counted more than the success. My friend was in the same situation and she was really frustrated after putting on the weight again. She finally came across a weight loss system that not only gave her a reason to smile but did the magic work that she wanted
to get done. I would advise you to give it a try….as it can be a turning point to your life.
All the Best!!!! |

Please don't give up. I truly understands what are going thru and how you are feeling right now.
I am onoly 5ft 3 in, and in the last six months my weight has piled from 120 pounds to 168. It's really scary - I feel like I am out of my elements and can't control it. All my outfits do not fit anymore, and I am very conscious about going out with friends .... even grocery shopping is a torture - as everyone seems to look like supermodels around me!! I know if I continue to spiral downwards -- I will be totally obese before the year ends.
HOWEVER, I will not let this get me down anymore. I have been extremely sad and upset with my situation but I am DETERMINED to make a change for myself.
I have started my exercise and diet this week. It's tough but I will do whatever possible to shed those weight that I have gained and a tad more.
Is anyone game to to start a weight lost buddy group? We can do weigh in every week |

Hi, I'd be really interested in this "weight loss buddy group".
I too am desperate to lose the weight and I feel like I've made a great start and I am just looking to continue with my plan! I have lost 14.5 pounds in 6 days working hard on my plan and exercising and I am confident I can continue.
Let me know about this buddy group!
To Ankoll - please keep going. All you need to do is to find a diet/plan that suits you and fits in with your lifestyle and work it.
Think about the reasons you HAVE to lose the weight!
Think about what you will lose if you DON'T lose the weight!
Find your desire to lose the weight and then take the action to lose that weight! |

Hi Jules,
I have started the 18-4 diet plan and had just completed my second day. How did you manage to shed so much weight in SIX days!! Great job!!
I am doing the 18-4 as a kick-start to my personal weight loss challenge. Will update you on my progress.
Cheers,
Sue |

Hello,
Greeting of the day. I have a nice strategy for loosing weight naturally. Let me remember you onething that " If you recognize and fulfill the needs of your body, it will fulfill your needs". Let me explain.. please check :
1. Are you having balanced diet ?
2. Do you take atleast 5 litres of water a day?
3. Are you interested in unprocessed foods?
4. How about physical exercise?
5. Do you leave your stomach empty atleast once in a week?
Here is some info. about the above 5 questions.... These are very economical...
1. A so called balanced diet should serve all the requirements of human body such as carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, essential fatty acids, fiber etc. SPROUTS can serve you all these. Vegetables and fruits won't hurt your digestive system.
2. A human body requires atleast 5 litres of water a day. It helps in burning fat. Also increases efficiency of digestion.
3. Nature really meant for serving mankind. It delivers all that what we want. Forget about processed foods and animal stuff. You can go for Salads, fruits and vegetables, honey, cashew nuts..
4. Yoga is the best physical exercise. Its all about leading life in a natuaral way.
5. Fasting is the best medicine. But remember to take honey and lime juice(2 tsps) mixed in water once for every 60 minutes. It prevents you from falling sick. Practice it once in a week.

You Can Do It!!! |
|
|
I'm finding the best way to drop extra kgs is to have unprocessed foods, exercise for 30mins everyday (just a brisk walk around the block), drink plenty of water and talk to a naturopath about what else you can do with vitamins/herbs/food/etc... and don't give up... You just have to make conscious choices... think about why you want yo loose weight and every time you want to cave in just remember all those reasons not to...
Good Luck

DDR. I know a lot of people lost weight through DDR and I also want to be one of those people. If you just look around the internet you'll find stories.
Back in middle/high school, when I was fit and healthy, I played DDR to lose/maintain my weight. I played 30 min to 3 hours a day. To me, it's the easiest way to get my butt off the couch/chair/bed and start moving every day. I only stopped because my brother lost our PS2. I went off to college, everything was fine until last year when I suddenly gained ~45lbs. I've been careful about what I ate for the last 7 weeks and I've lost 11lbs with minimal exercise (I recently started to go swimming every Friday). Now I'm about to start DDR again but I'm going to play on my PC. In the beginning, it might be frustrating but you'll gradually get better at the game and it's pretty much fun from then on. You don't really focus on the weight you're losing but the music and trying to get that "A" grade on the screen.
Best of all, this is done at home so you can't blame the fact that you worked late, shy about working out in gyms, or whatever else is the reason. It's not that expensive if you're playing on your PC. You just have to buy the mat (around $20-$30), you can download the program and songs online for free. Whether you play 10 minutes or an hour a day, at least you're doing something right? It just takes that one step to get you going.
I also found it motivating to have little notes everywhere reminding me.
This is my way of doing it and of course cutting back on fast food/take out. I'm trying to adopt the small 6 meals a day thing but it's hard for me. I'm just sticking to the old 3 meals a day (sometimes 2 meals for me). Oh, and I suck at counting calories. I eat until I'm half full (which according to my health teacher, is when you're already full but your brain didn't get the message yet). I'm slowly drinking more water every day. My health and aerobics teachers have mentioned that people overeat because they think they're hungry but often the body is just dehydrated and need water. I'm not sure if it's really true but my appetite decreased after increasing the intake of water. Don't get me wrong, I still eat chips occasionally (I love the mixed chips from trader joe). You can eat some but keep your goal in mind and you can control it.
If you have any questions about DDR on PC just message me at youtube =) my ID there is pink1e. |

| the best way to lose weight, is track everything you do for a week. Sit down, and do some good ol fashioned calorie counting, see where your weaknesses are, what time of day you fall into starvation and benge, that sort of thing, assess what you are eating, assess what you are burning off. Start there. If you have already done this, then you should, think long and hard bout what you're going to do next. lol. Ask questions, we can help! |
