I've been researching Ephedra and have learned that the ephedrine alkaloids are what a person wants, not the extract. But what I can't figure out is- if ephedrine alkaloids were banned in 2004, how come they are still for sale? I would appreciate someone shedding some light on this for me.

The answer to your question about being able to buy ephedra is because it was banned in some states not ALL states.

I have been able to purchase ephedra until now JULY.

And, I am searching to find out if it is legal in Canada.

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and ephedra is the only product that has ever worked for me and given me the energy to complete a day.

I am so saddened and truly becoming weaker and sicker every day.

How I wish people knew the helpful side of ephedra.

I may very well be bedridden without it, as i have been unable to find anything else that gives me energy.

The caffeine pills make me nauseated and last an hour.

Any ideas , anyone ?

The notion that ephedra was banned in some states, but not others is totally untrue! I'm a licensed physician and I can tell you that in 2004, ephedra was banned in all 50 states by the FDA, which has jurisdiction over the entire country, so it's not possible for any state to allow the sale of the original ephedra.

The good news is that some very smart people, including a former FDA director and an attorney who has practices regulatory law (FDA and FTC) for many years have teamed up with a nutritional product expert.

I purchased ephedra alkaloids up until 3 months ago.

Sent to Ohio.

threre was a short time that Ohio banned ephedra and i had to send order to my Mother in Illinois and she sent to me in Ohio.

However, Ohio was once again legal.

Last time a tried to order the ephedra; however, they told me they were not longer able to sell it.

I am now getting from a different company and it has 25 mg of ephedra alkaloids in it, so not sure how that is happening.

I realize my functioning days are limited , so i enjoy each and every one of them.

With CFS, and FMS; the mind fog and fatigue is debilitating.

In another forum that I am in; we have many outlets for finding ephedra; however, not all of them have the alkaloids which is what i need for the energy.

I am proof that i received epehdra with alkaloids/capsule form up until a few months ago and now receiving them from another company.
