Anyone else get this email?? |
|
|
Have any other past or present patients of Dr B get a very ominous sounding email from his office? I got one that basically asks for anyone with positive experiences with him and his treatment to share their story in an email - apparently he is in danger of getting shut down and hopes that positive experiences with him, as well as shared stories of bad treatment from other doctors (won't prescribe phen or other pills, etc), will help keep him open for business. Here's some of the email:
"We are under some attack by certain regulatory authorities
and it would be a big help to us if you would share your experience
with our on-line weight loss service with a brief (or long if you prefer)
opinion of the service.
Additionally, if you have had bad experiences with other weight
loss programs where you did not have a good experience or had your credit
card ripped off I would appreciate a brief note telling your story."
The message also says he might have to shut down his online program. I hate to think that I'd have to find another doc, and I esp hate to think that the good dr might have to close his doors. Sorry for the long post but this stinks!!! |

| Yes! I also got this email. I didn't respond because if he is being investigated I don't want to draw attention to the fact that I have been a patient. The last thing I need is to get a call from my state's Attorney General like another poster had happen to her in Pennsylvania. I'm such a chicken. |

I am going to call his office and find out if this is a hoax or the real thing.
If it is a hoax it is in my opinion very sick!
If it is reality, I am going to support Dr. Branch and his associates.
I have nothing to hide since I am what the "good ole government" would call clinically obese. (obese, what a degrading word! It sounds horrible.)
My question is: What the hell business is it of anyone especially the government whether I see a physician for my weight? online or otherwise!
The government has their damned noses stuck into everyones business and I for one am sick and tired of it especially since they meaning the FDA and DEA doesnt want to do anything to remedy or resolve in their words not mine, "the obesity epidemic"
I have one thing to say to them: FDA AND DEA put up and out or shut the "Fu@k up"!
I think that if- the FDA is so concerned about obesity, They need to make it a priority to re-train or re-educate these physicians to be a little more like Dr. B and to have a little more compassion for their patients instead of getting them in and out of their offices like a herds of cattle!!!
(my last visit to my doctor she came in and gave me a prescription for another patient!)
And giving their patients stupid advice usually in a condesending whiny tone: such as: "eat less and exercise more"and re-classify this medication and or come up with something better than a glorified exlax! I.E.- Alli!
You government dipdongs!
All of you forum funmeisters , all know me here as a pretty easy going and fairly positive light hearted individual, and I am truly sorry folks for ranting on like this but these government asswipes really piss me off!
You know that there is probably one person behind this whole thing dating back a couple years now regarding phentermine online and you can better bet its some little hypocrite Barney Fife type taking their position of authority too damned far.
I can just see it now. the little nerdy twit sitting behind his/her desk barking out orders!.
I hope someone shoots rubber-bands at you all day long!
Not really, Well....maybe just a little! .

His emails are usually written impeccably, but this one is a little sloppy. One person is calling and reporting back. Rather than having everyone call, why don't one or two make the call and report back? How about it, Punchie? You sure are good with words. |

| But if the email was no legit, how would they have gotten our email addresses? And considering of what happened to me, I find it hard not to believe......It's just too weird. I know alot of states do not like "online Doctors" cause they feel it is unethical (I hope I spelled that right) Anyway, so what do we do? I mean I am already involved, they already have my name, so me writing on their behalf should not be an issue. I mean he has helped and the staff has been great...and to take this away, (which they sorted of did already) sucks for everyone...so I want to know if this is def. Legit and if so, who is going to support them?? Look the bottom line is this, from the information I have gotten, we really can't get in trouble...we seeked help to lose weight from a physician and he helped. Let me know guys...... |

I got that email. I think it's legit, and I'm not sure if I should reply.
Basically, I'm worried about getting in trouble, as purchasing prescription medication in this manner may be illegal in NJ, as is doing just about anything in the state of NJ. I really don't need to be on a list the feds are compiling to use as an example of what happens when you "break the law". |

It seems legit to me. The email was written like every other email I've gotten from him. I responded to it last night asking exactly how our stories would be shared and if any of our private information would be compromised if we did so. I added that I would be willing to tell of my experiences only if I was assured that my private would stay private. I haven't heard anything back yet.
I feel that anyone who is (or was) a patient is owed more of an explanation about what is going on and how this affects us, if at all. And I'd like that explanation sooner than later.
If anyone has called his office, please post what you found out! I'll do the same if I don't get a response to my email. |

I received it too and am going to reply and support Dr. B. I want to stand up for what I think is right. I am also sure that the regulatories investigating Dr. B will be able to access our records, if they choose. Therefore, there is a slim chance anyone could hide the fact that they were a patient from the various attorney generals and/or state medical boards.
I would like to ensure these stories will only be used in any investigation and not for general advertising. If anyone gets confirmation of this, please post. |

| I just checked that email's return address. I am very skeptical about its origins. |

Just curious, but what about the email address made you skeptical? The one I got was from the same address that all his emails have been from. |

Is there a specific reason you would suspect something? |

| No SPECIFIC reason, but after reading the post about someone who received a phone call from the pharmacy and was questioned about her phen prescription and was told there was some investigation about her and Dr. B., I'm a little suspicious. |
