As we all know, ephedra was banned in 2004 by the FDA. The ban was successfully challenged in court in 2005, but upheld in 2006 and has been in effect ever since.

A new company, headed by a former FDA director and an attorney who specializes in regulatory law (cases involving FDA and FTC), has just released a newly reformulated, but powerful ephedra product that is FDA compliant because they have eliminated the alkaloids that caused the jitteriness and increases in heart rate and blood pressure as well as the occasional heart attacks that the original ephedra was associated with.

The product is a delicious, mango-flavored energy drink called Ximo(tm) Golden Ephedra and is made from ephedra and green tea. It also contains powerful anti-oxidants for general health and yohimbe which enhances sexual performance.

Through a process called thermogenesis, Ximo makes me burn a lot more calories and reduces my appetite, so I'm losing weight even when I don't exercise.

I have been using Ximo for two weeks and have lost 14 pounds. I have much more energy and better concentration. My girl friend thinks I'm using Viagra, but I'm not! Ximo is my little secret. (Please don't tell her my secret!) Because it's concentrated, I only have to drink 2 ounces a day to get the full benefit of this fabulous energy/weight loss product.

I've been telling everyone I know about Ximo because it really works.
All of my family and friends are now drinking it every day and loving it.

This sounds like a sales pitch, do you work for them?

It was not a sales pitch. I just wanted to share my terrific personal experience so I not only drink 2 ounces of Ximo every day, but I have been telling everyone I know about the product.

It wouldn't be fair to not share this information with everyone I know.
Besides, everyone is asking me how I've been able to lose so
much weight in such a short period of time. If answering them is a sales pitch, then I guess it's a sales pitch.

Ya can't blame her for thinking it sounds like a sales pitch... I know I thought the same thing. Especially with the parts that try and make it NOT sound like a sales pitch like "please don't tell her my secret".. how would we know where to contact her to tell her anyway???? That's just weird and shady to say... reeks of a sales pitch.

And like it was said above, the question was regarding alkaloids, not new products that don't contain alkaloids. Thanks for sharing anyway though I guess.

From this post on the same date you replied to my post on something else:

rubirich wrote:I'm an overweight physician and I've been using a new ephedra "energy drink" for a couple of weeks and have lost about 14 pounds with it.

It reduces my appetite and increases metabolism through a process called thermogenesis, so I burn calories even at rest.

It's FDA-compliant and completely legal and 100% safe. It really works!

In addition to ephedra, it also contains quercetin, trimethylglycine, yohimbine, anti-oxidants, and green tea extracts.

It's all described in a 7-minute audio here:

All I can say about it is "Wow!"

Not a sales pitch? ROFLMAO

Does that mean that it does not work? Anyone who is not selling it have any experience with it? I have been trying it for three weeks but I cant tell if its the ephedra or if the other ingredients are making me eat less between meals. I take 2 ounces three times a day. Any honest input would be appreciated because while its not that expensive its not cheap either. Thanks

IMHO i don't think that any drink supposedly containing "ephedra" could work!
Therei s a reason why epehdra was sold in pill form.

Pass that info to everyone about the real ephedra. I have been helping a lot of people understand the new scam in the ephedra market.

There are two types of ephedrine. The natural one is ephedrine alkaloids and comes from Ephedra, Ma Huang (Chinese translation of Ephedra) and Sida Cordifolia. They are herbs and derived from the leaves and stems. The other type of ephedrine is the synthetic kind which is called Ephedrine HCL.

There are varying amounts of ephedrine alkaloids in ephedra or sida cordifolia and they range from 0% to about 8% ephedrine alkaloids.
So in order to get 25mgs of ephedrine alkaloids (do not be fooled by 25mgs of ephedra extract) at 8% concentration, you need about 312mgs of stems and leaves. You multiply the 8% times 312mgs and you get 25mgs of ephedrine alkaloids. This is what you must look for and not just ephedra extract because it can be 0% (which normally is). Ephedrine HCL is the pure synthetic ephedrine in a pill and it is at 100% concentration. That is why it is loved the meth cooks and the reason why the DEA tracks the sales of it.

I have been trying to get liquid ephedrine for quite some time.  The ones I got are expired liquid Trucker's Luv It and had to throw them away even though they were still good after expiration.  You will find fake ephedra all over the place now and chances are that you will buy one of those rip offs before you get the real ones.  The fake ephedra is usually labeled as Ephedra Extract.  The real ones come from either ephedra, ma huang or sida cordifolia and contain the active ingredient ephedrine alkaloids.  If you are going to purchase any ephedra, make sure you see Alkaloids listed on the label.  If you only see Ephedra Extract 27mgs like the fake ephedra Green Stinger and no mention of Alkaloids, then you know you will be throwing money down the drain as soon as you open the bottle and try one.  The only place where I have found the most ephedra diets with the ephedrine alkaloids is at thatswholesale.com

They do have a few ephedra extract junk but you can sort those out and avoid them by reading the ingredients.  Go for the ones that have the ephedrine alkaloids.  If you see Ephedra Extract listed on any label and find in the ingredients PhenylEthylAmine in any form, then you know it is fake.  This is the rule of thumb.  PhenylEthylAmine combined with caffeine gives that boost of energy but it is short lived and cannot be compared to ephedrine alkaloids.  It can fool a beginner ephedra user but not a veteran.

Hello:  I am an old time user of ephedra products, originally using the REAL versions of Ripped Fuel, Hydroxycut, and then the aforementioned Lipodrene.  After the ban, I was able to retrieve one or two REAL bottles of Lipodrene.  But after about two years ago, the Lipodrene product changed.  I ordered a bottle, and it was labeled to contain Ephedra Alkaloids 25mg (I don't recall if the previous versions were the same, but I believe they were LABELED the same, but  for SURE it was not the same product inside.  It even tasted different!!)  Let's just say - it's not the real ephedra products pre-2004.  That last Lipodrene product I purchased was like taking a placebo.  I complained to "thatswholesale.com" and said that it was NOT the same product.  I have used these products for years while training and preparing for a bodybuilding show.  It has a certain taste - even the pills.  This had a different taste.  It gave me know "spark" so to speak at all, and I was extremely disappointed.  Since then, I have not repurchased the product or attempted to find the REAL thing because I don't think it's available anymore.  If it is, it's on a black market somewhere.  So "whatever" ephedra ingredients they claim to have - extract, alkaloids, etc. just beware of any product out there that claims anything.  Since it's technically banned from the market now, I suppose it can't be advertised as such.  And it certainly didn't work - and I know EXACTLY how real ephedra feels when I use it.  And I have not found it since.  If anyone knows where it is available for real...please let me know.
