For some unknown reason the government has something against people feeling good.
And dont ever bring up the idea of euphoria to the gophernment or even your own doctors, I think they want people as miserable and uptight as they are!
These dinks got the whole thing wrong!
If they were to get patients on happy meds then they will be more inclined to spend more on doctors and medications!
KER DUH!
I am increasingly bewildered at how ALL THESE people think that doing the things they are doing is ever going to get them anywhere. Someday maybe just maybe they will wake up and realize they keep doing all the wrong things and hoping for a different outcome! Now that is the very definition of CRAZY! |

That's really easy. It's because the country was founded by Puritans, who believed they had the right to tell other people what to do and how to live. On the government side, the philosophy behind phentermine being so difficult to get is the rationalization that people might abuse it. Government treats people like they are addled children and government is the parents.
Oddly enough, in the Netherlands, pretty much everything is available. You can go to a brown cafe and buy marijuana or hash (just don't run around smoking it on the streets like cigarettes). Addicts receive prescriptions for their addictive substances. The thinking behind this is that if the addicts don't have to commit crimes to buy drugs, the population will be safer. And it is. The crime rate is much less than here. I went to visit a relative who was working there. She said you can walk around any hour of the day or night, and it was true (though the red light district was a little hairy sometimes, due to tourists). A study in the U.K. followed 2 groups of addicts; those who received no treatment, and another group which received different types of treatment, over the course of 10 years. At the end it was found that both groups had similar numbers of people who weren't using. Generally, the addicts who didn't receive any treatment and had stopped using, simply were tired of what they were doing, and felt it was unsatifying.
Another reason is the judgemental nature of a government founded by Puritans. Fat is seen as a weakness by the individual to exercise self discipline. So legislators can get brownie points by clamping down on potentially abusive substances. After all, those fat people can just stop eating and exercise, can't they? Of course, they don't take into account metabolisms, people who have injuries which make exercise difficult, if not impossible, people who work long hours at jobs which provide little activity but are nonetheless exhausting. After all, how long ago was it that people used to believe that those suffering from depression should just "snap out of it", or that cancer was contageous?
I also hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I think the tripling of the price of Phentermine in recent years has more to do with the monopoly of those who control distribution than problems with supply. Note that all the sites which gave good value for the money are out of business, but the ones which charge obscene amounts are still here.
Sorry for such a depressing post! |

I'm reading your post and at the same time on Mad TV there is a woman in a skit about loosing weight. The guy tells her to eat less and move around. She says can't I just take a pill? He says looks like pills haven't worked so eat less and move around. She says she's not sure. He tells her she will probably even get money if she does this. She says it sounds like a scam you pull on old people. He asks how much she spends on food. She says 350.00 a day. He says to only buy 200.00 a day. She asks does she still have to move around. He says to take the pamphlet. She does and reads, eat less. She says this sounds different from what he just said. He says read the other side. She flips it and says move around. Then she tells him it's a poorly designed pamphlet. This is just to strange. |

Even more depressing, read the thread entitled My 2 cents; should give you some more info on why meds are so scarce and so high in price |
