Hey, quick question... Is it best to eat before or after you workout?

I ask b/c I find that at night after my workouts, I am famished!! I eat my dinner quite early 4:30ish and then go to the gym till about 8:00 some nights.

I try not to eat after 7:00pm, but I just always tend to fall short of sticking with this.

Any help would be appreciated!

I like to eat after my workout. Exercise boosts your metabolism and it will burn your fat faster if you eat afterwards. And I always feel guilty about eating after working out, so I know I will keep it healthy and keep the portions sizes small.

Having a small carb snack before you exercise, and your meal after is the best. Your body needs to replenish itself after you exercise. As for eating at night I wouldn't be to worried about it as long as it is part of your daily calories. Most people who eat at night are eating junk food sitting in front of the tv and this is why the recommend against it for weight loss.

They have proven time and time again that calories in-calories out=weight gain or loss. It doesn't matter if you like to work out before you eat so you burn more fat than carbs, because if you don't use those carbs where do you think they go? That being said, do what works for you, but don't worry too much about burning carbs over fat, because it all equals out in the end anyhow.
