Hi, I've been a trainer for 20 years and let me just say there are no potions, pills, gadgets or short cuts. Essentially you need to tackle this 3 ways.
1) Do resistance training 3 times a week for 30 minutes varying the workout and keeping the intensity high.
2) Do cardio exercise 3 - 5 times a week for 30 - 40 minutes. Try interval training for greater weight loss. Twice a week do 5 minute warm-up followed by a 3/4 speed 200 meter sprint/walk format for 20 minutes, cool down.
3) Diet. Journal your food intake, this is key. Keep your proteins high around 40%, carbs 20% and fats 40% for 2 weeks. After this cut your fats back to 30% and increase your fruits and vegetables by adding 1 serving of each per day/per week. Switch to lean proteins (fish, skinless chicken, lean beef), eat breakfast and spread your calories out over 3 meals and 3 snacks a day.
A typical dinner would be 6oz grilled fish, 8 asparagus spears, colorful salad with balsamic vinegar and olive oil and 3oz of long grain wild rice or 3oz of whole grain bread.

As an aerobics instructor I have allot of young women ask me these questions. All those wild hormones can really be hell on your body. You need lots of fish oils and CUT OUT SUGAR. Just simply cutting out BREAD and Sugar as a teen will calm those wild hormones and help you lose weight. Eat lean and protein rich and get lots of FUN exercise!
