Hi Everyone! This is my first post here, having just found you all :-) I am five weeks into my dieting and starting to lose some motivation, so I came to the internet to find some inspiration, looks like there is plenty here! I am working on the Weight Watchers eating plan, and going to meetings once a week, it really does seem to be working, although some weeks I lose nothing and other weeks I can lose almost 2 kilos.

I have to say I didnt actually realise just how overwieght I was until I started working out how much I needed to lose, and it seems sooo much, I sometimes wonder if its even possible. But I just saw the 'before and after' photos on this site and it really has re-motivated me and helped me believe its possible :-)

I am blogging my progress, and each day putting up a 'menu' of what I am eating, I hope it would be of some help to someone. I know for myself that it really helps to plan my weekly menus, shop for them, and not have to think about (or worry about) what I am going to eat that day, because I just go to my list and it tells me what to eat. The nice thing about doing that for myself is that I can cook the foods I like, rather than following someone elses tastes. I make sure its all healthy stuff and that it all fits inside my allowance for each day. I have to say that "most" days I am not hungry during the day at all. http://www.weight4suzy.com I am still working on the blog, later it will have a button for adding comments, maybe other people have recipes to share too!

It is SO nice to find a whole community of people to share this process with. Its not easy and seems so daunting.

Congratulations on your progress so far.  Remember to be patient with yourself...this is a journey that will take time and patience, but it will be worth it.  It's a lifestyle change, and by changing your perception towards food, you'll be able to keep it off for a lifetime.
Before and after pics are VERY motivating.  Why not carry around your own empowering photo that will help you stay on track.  It worked really well for my friend.  Keep checking in, keep blogging, and keep up the great work!

Hey thats a great idea about carrying a photo with me, it IS motivating. I also thought today I might start taking photos (just with my phone so I dont look like some kind of fashion spy) of clothes I would like to buy when I get thin. Thats another motivator for me, being able to wear the things I really like!

Updated the blog today  with its final design and comments options. I have some recipes and menus on there, maybe they are useful to others too, I try to make healthy and tasty food, and I find now I enjoy it so much more - I appreciate it more I think :-)
