Efexor and Reductil

Hi There. I have been prescribed Reductil to take once I have stopped taking Efexor for about 2 weeks. I have been weaned down to 75mg per day of Efexor and don't think I can bear the withdrawels and was wondering if I could just stop the Efexor and take the Reductil the next day as the Dr said they were similar drugs. Does anyone know anything about this? I am desperate....

Hi, Pinkrabbit.  I would recommend you call your pharmacist or any pharmacist and ask this question.  I have had much better luck in getting an answer and getting it quickly by calling a pharmacist rather than the doctor when it comes to drug interactions and info.  It kinda makes sense as pharmacist do this all day every day and it is a major obligation for their career to know this information.  Doctors are wonderful talented people too, but they don't spend all day every day knowing and learning new medications to this level.  Good Luck.
