Hi all,
I just started Meridia today and I am very excited. I have been "dieting" on my second week so far and have done well but am very glad to hopefully have this extra help. I have found from experience that having a support group is very helpful.

Today makes 4 days on Meridia. Before the meds I would really struggle to eat in moderation but had a hard time doing so. I drank sodas and tried sussuessfully to break that habit. I also felt so tired all the time that I couldn't get to the gym.
I have not checked my meight since starting but I have noticed that I have tons more energy and actually feel happier for some reason. I also can control my eating. I don't want to starve myself and not be able to retrain myself on eating habits. I know that if I do that when I go off the meds I'll just gain it all back. So instead I plan out my meals. Since I actually an not interested in food it makes it so much easier.
Every morning I eat a 1/2 a cup of fruit. Mostly strawberries, melon and citrius since these are so lite. For lunch I have had very small portions of chicken or fish and a big salad with no dressing or grilled veggies. For dinner I have been relying on frozen organic dinners from my local Natural Foods store. I keep it around 400 calories. I let myself have dessert most nights. A single strawberry with 1/2 a teaspoon of Nutella.
The frozen dinners are because I have been hitting the gym for about 1 - 2 hours every night after work. It makes it easier to eat on of those because if I cooked I wouldn't eat till 9 pm and I am in bed by 10. this weekend I plan on making up some healthy homemade options for dinner that I can just pop in the microwave. I let myself have that small sweet thing because I want to make sure that I teach myself that I don't have to starve myself but can have a healthy version. the strawberry and nutella only have about 40 calories so its perfect for that and so good.
I am really excited to so if all this is really paying off but I want to wait until its been a full week so that I don't get myself depressed.
I really think that having someone to talk to who is doing the same thing is also going to help.
Good luck!
