I am 33, 5ft nothing and weigh 11 stone 9 (well - 5/6 pounds) I am on my 10th day now. Reason I say 5/6 pounds is yesterday I weighed myself and had lost 6lbs but went out last night was drinking and eating alot (Hen party) and this morning had gained a pound! Still another 39lbs to go!!! Using 10mg which I was given by my doctor!

If you have lost at least 7lbs in a month does your doc up the dose to 15mg.Side effects for me are dry mouth and some nausea the first 2 days only, other wise great! How much weight should I be losing am I on track or not ....could someone please advise me !!

Thanks and goodluck to all who are trying to lose weight!

Hey Lovechocolate.  I'm 35, 5ft5 and currently 79kg.  I don't want to know what that is in Stones:)
I'm on day five - and after some chest cramps on the first day that had me running straight to my GPs surgery (he said I needn't worry), and a weird spaced out feeling... i'm pretty amazed by these pills.
My appetite is seriously down - though do I still fancy a glass of wine of an evening - the urge to snack has all but totally disappeared.  I'm going to weigh in after the first week so it will be interesting to see if the booze I had over the weekend has totally thrown me off track.
I don't think doc's up the dose unless the 10mg effects are starting to wear off.  I guess the body starts to develop a tolerance eventually, though I 've got my fingers crossed that this doesn't happen too soon!
I think they say you should lose 3% of your body weight in the first month and then 10% within a year.  But i'm not sure... can anyone else clarify.
Good luck and let me know how you get on!Image

Hi Cupcakemania......nice to get a reply I do remember the first 2-3 days feeling like I was walking on air but I remember my doctor saying to expect this as you start to get an used to the tablets. 11 stone 4lbs still. Since I was drinking on saturday night finding it a bit hard to get on track again (sitting here as we speak drinking a morgan spice) Will get back on track... dont feel the urge to binge any more which is a great feeling!!!! If I lost a stone in 6 weeks would be over the moon! Please keep in touch would love to hear how you are doing !!! P.S. Were you from?

GOODLUCK!!

Hiya!
Wow - nice one, looks like you're well on your way to losing that stone in 6 weeks.  Six lb down, only eight to go!
I want to get down to 70kg by my holiday in July which is 22lb in three months.  That's got to be possible hasn't it?
Yes, you're right, that spaced out feeling is starting to wear off now, and i've got a tiny bit more appetite, but I experience feeling FULL properly which never really happens to me normally.
I have tried pretty much every diet going over the years and I gotta say that these little pills are giving me a lot of hope and confidence that I can really do it.
It's like something has shifted- although it's not my weight!  Just weighed in this morning and i've only lost 0.6 of a kilo! That's about half a pound. But i'm not really worried as I FEEL thinner and my jeans are looser..
I've been swimming and eating small and only at meals so i'm just gonna have another weigh after the Easter weekend and see where I am then.
He he - morgan spiced, go on girl!  I know it says you shouldn't drink on these, but it only says because they are empty calories - not that it doens't mix well with the drugs.... so i'm not worried.  Should I be?  I live in London - so there's always plenty of temptation!
Let me know how you get on and have a great Easter!

Well done you!!! Half a pound is great!! I have been reading alot on reductil ...and alot of users find that it takes 2-3 weeks to kick in! Doll I think I just have alot more to lose than you! Bet after the easter weekend you have another 2 pounds off wouldnt that be great! If you keep going the way you are going you will so have 22lbs off!
Remember drink plenty of water !!! (not morgan spice like some! lol). I live in N.Ireland ! Keep that picture in your head of how great you will look on your holidays you sound like a positive person...come to think of it I really do believe these tabs make you feel like this....hope ye know what I mean ..like you feel yepeee I can lose this weight and thats that!!
Happy Easter to you and dont deprive yourself of a little egg!
Speak to you soon!! P.s. havent lost another ..but also havent gained!

God that just makes me feel SO much better - I'm just on my 14th day now!  Guess what, i'm the same weight!  I just can't believe it.  My calorie intake is right down, I didn't even want to indulge at the weekend.
I told everyone this year - no eggs for me please!  You're right though, at least there's no gain....
How are you getting on?  I've got the picture in my head - it's pretty clear:)  Also I was watching Gok's Fashion Fix last night and thinking about lovely new clothes which always helps I find.
In spite of the lack of weight loss i'm still feeling a bit thinner.  I'm laying off ANY booze this week too to see if that helps. I find it's hard for me not to have a wee glass of wine in the evening, so it will be interesting to see if that makes a difference.
Definitely less spaced out now - which is good, I think;)

Morning Tara - you must be excited. Good for you for getting it from the GP, much safer that way...
I personally found the first three days very strange, initially my stomach got turned upside down (if you get my drift) and I TOTALLy lost my appetite, which was very very strange for me as I LOVE my food.  Also I was pretty high and spaced out, generally in a good way, but I did experience a bit of unexplained anxiousness too... but all that passed.
I've just started week three now and as well as wanting to drink TONs of water, I'm noticing a real shift in my attitude to food.  I went to the cinema with some friends last night and didn't even eat any popcorn which was always my weakness.
It sounds like your exercise routine is good - daily walks, gym and swim. I always find I start with the best intentions and then get bored:  will do two weeks of being really intensive and then lose my momentum totally.  Any tips on how to keep it going gratefully received.
Are you planning on keeping up with the WW points while you're on Reductil?
Good luck with taking the first step, and please keep us posted with how your first day goes!

Hi Guys - just thought i'd share a quick realisation with you. Just my experience, but i've come to realise that after the first couple of weeks these pills DO NOT stop you getting hungry.  They just don't.  I'm still hungry every 2-4 hours.
What they DO, and what they do really effectively is STOP OVEREATING. This is the amazing bit for me, I actually feel sated, like i've had enough and satisfied after a small portion.
What do you guys think?
Weighing in this Thursday (eek)

Hey Tara - don't worry about the lack of weight loss - I didn't show anything on the scales for the last two weeks - and i'm having to drink senna tea to get things moving if you know what I mean...

Really glad you're feeling great - don't let the scales get you down - you'll show some loss in no time and in the meantime feeling great is in itself a great reward.  (also remember work scales might be different from Chemist scales)

Will keep you posted!

Hi ladies have been on abreak for a few days this is why I have not recently posted a message! Anyways....have just come back from the Docs and have lost 6lbs in a month ....was sooooo depressed! But my doctor explained that this was fine as 4-7 lbs a month is shown in research to be easier to keep off than big amounts of weight coming off at once( I was thinking easy for you to say sitting there in yer size 0000 clothes...) but she was very nice!
Asked if my dose could be put up to 15mg but she feels that 10mg for now is fine ...as the higher the dose the higher the risk of having side effects!  She also explained that some people will have their weight loss at the start of the first month while others it will take a little longer everyone is different! So girls keep up the good work and it will soon show! Speak to you both soon! Wishing you all the luck in the world...as I know how down and anxious trying to loss weight can make you feel!
