6LB IS BRILLIANT - Well DONE!
And thanks for your encouraging words Lovechocolate!
Your Doc sounds really knowledgeable, and it's definately a case of easy come easy go. Or lose it quickly and you've more danger of putting it back on quickly.
Keep it up and remember how well you've done already

Hello everyone,
I am severely obese, I live in Australia - my doctor wanted to start me on duromine but I wouldn't due to the dangerous side effects;
he then mentioned reductil, I haven't got a prescription yet until I get more research, but I have found some worrying side effects from research, heart palpatations etc., I am 56 and just need to know that you all feel that these haven't given you any problems and that the weight loss is worth taking these reductil. Would appreciate any help as I'm 18 stone and should be 9 stone, I'm really suffering of course, thanks for your help in advance. Di

Hi ya Di nice to hear from you! Well I did alot of research myself and to tell you the truth I to found there was alot of side effects, have not had palpatations myself but have read of people who have! I feel full of energy most of the time a bit of constipation, dry mouth at the start but other than that feeling good! Look I would personally recommend you give it a try.. but if your gut feeling is telling you not to then honey go with that! My cousin who is 4ft 11 in went on reductil 3 years ago and weighed 16st 7 lbs and lost 6 stone in a year . She couldnt diet to save her life and believe me if she done it anyone can! And at present she weighs 10 stone! Good luck and keep in touch!
Hi guys - and well done Lovechocolate on your 9lbs - that is seriously good work! I've got the docs this evening so will report back on my first weigh-in. I hope I've lost enough and he doesn't take me off them!
In answer to Di's question, when I was researching Reductil I read a cutting from an Australian Newspaper about a girl who died using it, so I don't blame you for being cautious. I have to confess I was extremely aprehensive for the first few days. But like Lovechocolate says, you have to follow your gut feeling. There are certain conditions which, if they run in your family, means Reductil is a bad idea, such as heart conditions, high blood pressure, epilepsy and so on. But even if you don't have any of these conditions in your family, it's still a personal choice.
My experience is that this is not a miracle cure, it still takes some degree of willpower. The weird thing is that it seems to give me extra will power, more than stopping me feeling hungry! It does stop me from overeating though, absolutely no doubt about that.
Do keep us posted from over there in oz and let us know how you get on - wishing you all the luck in the world, whichever way you choose to lose the weight!

Hope everything went well today at the docs for you!!! Let me know how you got on!! Bad day today....think a bit of PMT is setting in did not eat much just all the wrong stuff! Two galaxies, 2 thick slices of cherry cake with butter packet of buttons and not forgetting a magnum...........mmmmmmmmmmmmm bet thats about 3000 cals. As you can see not one normal healthy meal in sight!!! LOL Seriously BAD!
Yeah that PMT is a bitch. I generally want to shout at everyone, as well as eat the entire contents of the fridge. It sounds like a good comprehensive indulgent day, chocolate, cake, ice cream mmm i'm jealous. I bet you enjoyed it:) but don't be down on yourself, you know it's just one day off track - and I bet you'll be back on soon!
As for the Docs Well I nearly fell over. Thought my start weight had been 79kg, but he told me it was 81kg (urgh!) when I started (before I started weighing at home) - and yesterday I was 75KG so I'm totally chuffed to bits!
Here's to a sunny weekend!

Hey there - thought i'd say hello as it's been a while. How's everyone doing? I've been told i've got to keep my blood pressure down or doc's going to take me off the 10s.... so i'm off for a swim. I've been injured so not doing any exercise so hopefully the swim wont flare up the injury. Having the BP test on monday morning - should I avoid coffee beforehand? I had drunk a ton of diet coke before my last appt so maybe that didn't help?
hi ya cupcakemania....... have not been on in a while! Went away on a last minute holiday to spain for a week! Now in seriously down ..put on 5lbs. So have to get back on track!!! How r u??? Hope your BP has stayed down!
Hey there - A last minute holiday!!! God how lovely. For a week away, and all the sangria that comes with it, 5lb is really not bad at all! Don't be down, it could have been SO much more!
The BP was fine - think I must have been kind of stressed at the last appt. as I was so scared about the weigh in. Next weigh in soon!
I seem to be malting though which is worrying...

So down at present cant even look at myself in the mirror! Size 16 5ft nothing need a miracle. If I had a few extra pound lying about seriously think I would go down the surgery route!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for ranting to you ....hope you are doing well and wish I had half your will power and none of my greed!!!
Hey Lovechocolate - how are you getting on now? Did you get back on course? I had a second weigh in last week - and after six weeks, only a half kilo loss! How gutted I was. Just got to hang in there and keep at it, that's what I keep telling myself. Don't go down the surgery route - you can do it!!!
