Any product or diet that cleanses your bowels or helps you lose "excess water weight" that's just what that is...bowel cleansers just clean the crap out of your intestines. The only weight lost is from your bowel movements. Your body composition is not changed. Furthermore, using laxitives can cause dependence (meaning: you can't do #2 without them!) and electrolyte imbalances in your body.  Diuretics claim to help you lose excess water weight but should only be used with people with edema.  If you are bloated, believe it or not, the best way to help that is to DRINK MORE WATER!
The absolute BEST diet out there is one that includes lots of fresh veggies and fruits, whole grains, low fat dairy products, lean meats and fish, and  very limited amounts of junk food.  Do not eat less than 1200 calories a day, but by eating 500 less calories/day than what your body requires to maintain its weight can lead to a weight loss of 1 lb a week. (http://health.msn.com/weight-loss/measu ... olism.aspx is a good website to find out how many calories you need and how many you can cut from your diet)  Experts do not recommend that you lose more than 2 lbs per week but you may lose more than that when starting your diet)
Finally be sure to get plenty of exercise! How much depends on your health and abilities. Even if you are just taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking at the end of a parking lot instead of by the door.
I recomment that you read the articles on this website, they are very helpful for getting started: http://health.msn.com/diet-and-fitness.aspx

I have to agree with sfischer. It would be great if more people had your best interests at heart and stop marketing b.s. to separate you from your hard earned money. Don't fall victim to false claims, there is no easy cheat way to do this, you have to earn it. Find a pro who is willing to design a program that fits you, not the other way around. You can't squeeze an oval into a round hole.
Your personality, your goals, your present diet, your lifestyle all have to be considered when implementing a program to give it the best chance of succeeding.
Life Oprah once said, if there was a magic pill she would know and we would all find out on her best of show. lol

I guess that I had deleted the link to those top 10 diets. Indeed there is an aggressive diet pill marketing. Its hard to tell what is good anymore.

Your exactly right. The whole key to loosing weight is eat less and move around more. There is no "easy" way. If it was easy, noone would be overweight. The way I calculate my calorie intake is to take my weight X ten then X twenty-five precent. That will work pretty close for everyone. Now if you exercise you will have to add say five hundred for a very hard one hour routine. To see my results go to beachbodycoach.com/lantresfitness check out my profile and give me a yell, I'd love to hear from you.

You might consider Emotional Freedom Techniques for weight loss.  It is as effective or more effective than most diets.
