I don't mean to belittle your post or the fact that you're trying to help people - in fact I commend you - but eating a low-fat diet isn't the solution. You must eat fat in order to lose weight. Yes, I know this sounds contradictory but there are different kinds of fats and obiously you must avoid the bad ones. The good fats that actually help you lose weight are your natural ones like avocados, olive oil, coconut oil, the fat found in meat etc. If you cut this fat out of your life you're actually doing the opposite to what you want to achieve - which is to lose weight.
First of all the OP never said that the diet was fat free. He said it was low fat, so there was no need at all to chide him. For myself, after years of failure on low carb diets, I am now on a low fat diet and I lost 100 pounds. So to suggest that it isn't possible is also wrong. I am a carb lover. So it was never realistic for me to adopt low carbs though I tried to do it for 15 years until I finally got wise.
In my attempt to severely limit my carb intake I ended up gaining 100 pounds because eventually when I could no longer take the cravings I would binge. The pattern was, low carbs for four months, binge for the next four months. This went on for 15 years. I started out only needing to lose 10 to 15 pounds, and wound up needing to lose 100 pounds.
I finally found my solution, which was is low-fat diet, which allowed me to lose 100 pounds while eating all of my favorite foods. I created a wide variety of delicious low-fat recipes and have included them in my new website: thecarbdiet.com. My recipes are the types of meals that real people eat everyday and they are inexpensive and easy to prepare. I also give myself one day a week to eat whatever I want, fat and all.
Different diets will work for different people. That's why there are so many of them out there. Every one needs to find which one works for them. If a person can be happy with a carb restrictive diet, who am I to tell them they shouldn't be happy. But for those who cannot limit carbs, and stay on that eating plan for the rest of their life, thecarbdiet.com, might be the solution for them because it's not a diet. It's about changing the way you cook and eat for the rest of your life, and not feeling deprived about it.
