Anyone dieting in 2010? I just realize that if I will go for a diet it will go like this year after year.

Now I try to change my habits (bad eating habits) for good. This doesn't mean I can't eat anything I like and still loose weight. It is just how much, what and when.

yes you are right, we should not force our self to not have things which we like rather we should have things which we like and try to work more on loosing weight and i have seen people doing it and are successful in loosing weight.

be positive minded and you must find a way of eating habit that you find it easiest and happy with and continue it so that you can stay slim all the way.

The difference between the people in my gym who are really successful at weight loss, and those that flounder, is this exact principal.

Dieting doesn't yield LONG TERM results.  Changing habits, cultivating discipline, and adopting a new lifestyle does.

It takes time though.  I wish more people understood this.

In the long term you definitely want a lifestyle change.  But a diet can help you get things started.

The first problem is our misuse of the word diet in our culture and its associated negative connotation. This negativity almost always leads to failure.
When we talk about the diet of the African lion, we aren't talking about what the lion is avoiding eating, we are discussing what the lion sustains itself on. So, too we need to consider diet is what we eat, not what we don't. So, if you are discussing a long term lifestyle change diet is exactly what it is. The key is, is your diet right and healthy for you. Don't let a word sink your goals.

I don't really diet for "Fat Loss". Always I try to eat clean, except for some planned cheat meals.

Dieting can sometimes work but for it to work, u need the right diet in the first place. More importantly, I say a change of attitude, mindset, discipline and sacrifice are the main ingredients when it comes to loosing weight.

No diet can work if the person in question does not use their mental side. This is the "bit" so many people ignore but trust me it is the clincher especially when combined with a rigorous exercise regime.

The year, be it 1999, 2050 or 2010 really does not make a difference, infact most new year resolutions are broken within the first three months of the year!

I have changed my approach to foods years ago and never looked back. Like skipping the foods that are fatty and don’t fill me up, passing on the chips and have an apple instead... Or, consuming power foods... It's all good but sometimes you really need to follow a diet plan (which is suitable for your needs, of course).

Dieting can be a real challenge if you don't have the right attitude, or if you are focusing on wrong things. Well, everyone talks about this right? I'll tell you one thing that helped me the most. I've started to focus on foods that I would be eating while following a diet plan, not the ones I would be avoiding. I've learned how to make use of positive and motivational words. 'Don't eat this, don't eat that' mostly leave a negative impact on people's minds. This is why most people hate the words 'diet', 'dieting' etc.
