Nutrition is all about the study of food and how our bodies use food as fuel for growth and daily activities. The macronutrients, or "big" nutrients include proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. The micronutrients, or "little" nutrients are the vitamins and minerals that we need to be healthy.

What about ammino acids? I've been reading alot on ammino acids and how important they are to not only our brain chemistry, but for almost every function in our body, including weight control.
If you eat a complete protein like beef you will ingest the amino acids your body needs including the 8 your body can't manufacture. Taking branch chain amino acids and free form amino acids has been a long practiced tradition in bodybuilding. Know that all the amino acids in the world won't benefit you unless your body needs them. Use of amino acids is controlled by protein synthesis which is hormonally stimulated. I recommend eating a balanced diet with adequate lean protein choices.
That being said the use of certain free form amino acids in moderately high doses have been used for varies conditions. I personal use L-Arginine on a regular basis. It naturally increases nitric oxide in the blood making your blood vessels more pliable and the platelets less sticky, both good for your cardio vascular system and possibly reducing plaque in the brain.
