Topamax VS Phen

Ok I tried taking topamax but wieght loss was very minimal and it made my head feel cloudy,and I had cotton mouth....Phen is better right?

I wasn't aware that topamax was used for weight loss.  The use that I am familiar with is it being used for seizures.  It is an anticonvulsant.  A side effect of the med can be decreased appetite and weight loss.  But to be honest I don't think it curbs your appetite if you are one of those (which I am) that can't get full.  Others may have had a different experience(s).  I like phentermine.  It too can make you have cotton mouth.  I carry water with me or green tea and chew gum when I'm at work.  It does not cloud my mind at all.  In fact it wakes it up.  Hope that helps.

I was on topamax for a year. I lost a TON of weight, but the other side effects were so awful that I had to stop taking it. I would basically do anything to be thin, but the side effects really were ruining my life. The 2 worst were not being able to remember anything and very bad pins and needles in my feet when I slept (felt like I was on fire.) My doctor said starting off with a very low dose and slowly increasing would help with the side effects but it was just awful. I also tried adding b vitamins to help but they did nothing.

The only good thing was I went from about 130 to 105 (im 5'3")
Use with caution though. VERY bad side effects
