yes I have had a gastric bypass about 6yrs ago.The reason for taking phen was to help keep the weight off.My sister had a bypass about 20yrs ago and she has gained all the weight back as well as 50lbs more.People seem to think that once you have the surgery that is it but if you eat all day long or choose the wrong food to eat you will gain weight and it is pretty easy to do.The meals you eat are smaller portions but if you each several a day you will gain weight.I will answer any questions I can for those of you that are thinking of going that route. My Mom had bypass surgery about 25yrs ago one of the first ones done in my area.My sister had her bypass done after my Mom had success with her surgery and has kept almost all of the 100lbs off.I lost 90lbs and have kept it off but my weight can go up or down 7lbs.
I was wondering if you had any issues with absorption of the phen after bypass.
I had gastric bypass 8 years ago and gained some weight back. I lost about 40 lbs recently, and want to take the phen for energy and to lose the rest of the weight.

Andrea, I can't answer your question about absorption, but I just wanted to add that my former housemate had had the gastric bypass about 10 years ago. She lost a ton of weight (approx 100 lbs) and kept it off for several years; however, the last 5 years or so she has been gaining and having a very hard time losing. I think your situation is rather common, unfortunately. Good luck to you. I hope phen is able to help get you (back to) where you want to be!
