Hi Everyone! Im a newbie here and my name is Paloma. I wanted to begin a christmas thread. I don't have much family so I don't have many people to buy gifts for, however I usually get my shopping done by the first week of December.
When do you all get your shopping done and when do you find it to be the busiest?

Hello Paloma - Christmas is my favorite holiday, with Halloween as a close second. I just wish I could enjoy it the way I did as a kid. As the mom (cook, housecleaner, gift buyer) it seems that I spend so much time running around shopping, wrapping - planning & worrying about getting things done in time - that I don't get to really enjoy the holiday at all. Before you know it - it's Christmas Eve and I am promising myself that next year it will be different. But it never is. lol. I'm sure it's that way for most of us. Anyhow, welcome to the WL forum.
Welcome Paloma!! Well I'm terrible at getting my Christmas shopping done. I sometimes don't even start shopping till the week before Christmas, and man are the malls packed!! However it's nothing compareds to Boxing week sales!
Hi Friends
What a great thread!
Kind of like the thread I started
"Well, Here comes another holiday or two or three or..."
I think it takes our minds off of the negativity that is all around us in the real world..something different anyway..Very nice.

Wonderful thread Paloma!!
Christmas isn't my favorite holiday - Halloween gets that honor - but the time I get to spend with my family makes it second by far. This year we are spending Thanks with the honey's family and Christmas with my family which means lots of crown royal and board games.
I really despise shopping. Like, a lot. I hate salespeople and crowds etc so most of my shopping is done months before the December rush. I have lagged this year but that is because I set up a HSA - Holiday Savings Account - with my bank. You made deposits all year long and then on Nov 1st you cash out your account - but the kicker is you can't take money out at all any other time. So, I saved more than I though and can now go buy all my remaining gifts.
To add another question to Paloma's question... Does anyone have any special Christmas traditions?
We always go to The Great American Melodrama to see their Christmas show, every year, without fail. I'm a fan of live theater and this is a Cali Central Coast tradition for a lot of families. Check it out if you like - just sharing a tradition with all of you wonderful people!! http://www.americanmelodrama.com/

I have my own personal Christmas tradition. I absolutely must watch the 24 hour Christmas Story marathon on TNT. I don't watch the entire marathon, of course, but I'll tune in more than a few times that day. It drives EVERYONE in my family nuts!
I do all my shopping online because i hate crowds and impulse shopping! I really only shop for my husband and the kids. I make cookie trays for the mailman, UPS guy, some friends, and my husband's co-workers.
I love Christmas, all my family goes to one house,,this year its my house and we eat eat eat! and have a great time! and i love to shop online!
I love Christmas because I love the Lord!
I was with 90 percent of my shopping before Black Friday....online of course! I still picking up a few things here and there at Target.
We always do the traditional Christmas at home with family...as many as possible.
