Hello my name is Jamie I am 13 and like most teenagers I am overweight but I am on a mission, a mission to achieve a six pack!

Jamie ,
You will soon hit puberty and all the extra pounds will disappear, do not worry about that. I recommend you to start doing any sport. Its the right time to put the bases of a harmonious body.

Do not worry about the six pack, you can have them in few years. For now try to eat right, do not smoke or drink and practice any sport you like.

Hey, I see that you have the South Park poster on, I am also a fan.

Hey, I see that you have the South Park poster on, I am also a fan.

I don't think I am going to hit puberty any time soon and I wanted to lose weight before I move school so everyone doesn't say "hey look at the new boy, he's soooo fat". Unfortunately I am not a sporty person. Yer south park rules, if you want I could tell you a website where you can watch episodes online.

You are not fat, at least not from what I can see in your pic. You will soon hit puberty, its just around the corner. I remember that when I was your age I started to practice volleyball at my local high school. In one year I gain about 5 inches in height, I was so skinny after that.

You have to find some sport or physical activity you like. Swimming is very good as well as basketball or volleyball. You do not have to do performance just find something you like.

Try to eat accordingly to your age, do not diet. Avoid fast food, pizza, candy bars, fizzy drinks, sweets in excess, fried foods. At this age you need proteins, vitamins and minerals. You can get them from dairies, fruits, vegetables, eggs, quality meat.

Take Cartman as an example, that is a fat boy. Did you saw what he eats? Cheesy Poofs and all kind of all kind of junk snacks. That food you should avoid at all ages.

Thanx for the South Park episodes but I bought all the series from Amazon.

I like swimming but there isn't any swimming pools where I live.

Thanx for the pics,
I could say that you have some "baby fat" but nothing to be scared of. What do you usually eat?

I usually eat stuff like toast, bagels, muffins (not like chocolate muffins, muffins that you put sausage and egg in but without the sausage and egg) and crumpets for breakfast. I don't really eat lunch because I am not allowed pack lunch and school dinner tastes like plastic. To make up for missing lunch I have sweets after school. Then for dinner I have loads of different things (not at the same time lol).

I see,
Can you find a way to eat a proper meal for lunch? I am thinking at a grill with lots of salad and fruits. I know that school food tastes like plastic but in some schools they have really equilibrated meals, you could try to eat at the cafeteria. Its a commune problem, due to the lack of free time we replace a lunch with sweets or junk food.

Find a way to replace those afterschool sweets with a nice lunch.

What sports do you like? Practicing a sport not only will help you grow but will also allow you to develop social skills, competitively.

The only food I have access to tastes like plastic and I have tried it before.

The only sport I like is swimming and the nearest pool is a 30 minute drive and we have never been there so the only time I ever go swimming is with my nan in the holidays and w don't always go swimming.

I see.
You are not fat! To be honest I really think that you will drop that weight in short time but it would be a great advantage for you to learn how and what to eat.

I have to go now, I've been online for like 16 hours. Hopefully other forum members will jump into this thread. Its a really interested topic.

I had thought at your small problem. In my opinion the only way to do it is trough exercising and proper nutrition. If you start exercising now and eat right you will avoid lots of health problems for many years.

I was thinking that I could walk my dogs everyday (like I did today) and at my school I thought long and hard about having lunch and I managed to work out I like the BLTs at my school but without the bread. So I have that sorted.

This is great. Walk your dog everyday, its a great way to burn some calories and relax. What did you worked out? How it went?
