Its day 8 for me and i feel great on these tablets (Reductil) I feel so in control, ive only lost 3 Pounds I think but i am not botherd if its coming off slowly. Use to have a snack attack at night Between 8pm til 9pm and for the last 4 nights I have not and feel very strong and pleased with myself.

I am 5ft 1 inch and weight 11st 9lbs, I only use to weight 9st until having a baby 4 years ago and put the weight on. I would like to get to 9st 7lbs, so I need to lose about 30lbs. Ive just started back at the gym this week, trying to go at least 3 times and just doing pure cardio and sit ups. Only side effect Ive had is Dry Mouth and can put up with that just drink loads of water.

I used to be 170lbs and used Reductil for about 3 months and lost 32lbs. I couldn't believe it. I didn't have to work out or eat right or anything. For me it was a miracle pill. After a year I only took it maybe a couple days out of the month and it continued like that for 2 years. I then got pregnant and tried it after I had my daughter at 188lbs. I was seeing no results. I have had a second child and I am very optomistic that it will work now. I will be seeing my doctor for Meridia since that is what is here in the US. I hope it will work the same as it did before. My side effects were only constipation. No dry mouth or insomnia.

During 2005, I was on Reductil for 3 mons and lost 33 lbs along with working out everyday. My diet was unhealthy, somedays I wont eat the entire day but would work-out during the night because of the energy Reductil gave me.

On my 3rd month taking it, I started peeing blood! My pee smelled real odd, like chemicals. It was a strong odor too so it was embarrasing for me to use public restrooms when there was a line. However, I was the skinniest I've ever been since grade school!

I maintained the 137 lbs for a good 2 mons after I stopped taking it. But of course I started gradually eating A LOT and stopped exercising. Now I'm back to 165.

My best advice: Once you get to your goal weight! Don't stop exercising and eating right!

Thanks first. Tell now how much weight did you loose with Meridia? Its great to hear about diets that work. But if it maintain after stop Meridia then it is good.

Hi there,

I've just started my first round on reductil after seeing my doctor at my local hospital and getting all my blood pressure, cholesterol, bmi checked and after talking with a dietitian.
I'm on 10mg (1 tablet in the morning) and from last Sat 12th April where i was 73,4kg I am now at 72.7kg today.
It all feels quite weird, not feeling the dry mouth but i haven't been drinking enough water - always my problem and sleeping has been fine. I do feel abit more alert during the day and at worst a slight headache by the end of the day.
The main thing is a major lack of appetite which for me is a major change as i am always hungry n eat large meals. I feel more satisfied when i do eat and less prone to snacking. But for me is now just working out what else to do - when nights are usually filled for food
Sorry to be so long winded but I'm really glad to have found this forum. Wish me luck cos being 5ft 3 and 73kg in a country where the average is 49kg is a nightmare!

In KL, Malaysia from Ampang Putri Private Hospital - Reductil is given as part of their slimming programme - RM80 for the consultation n dietician and RM211 for a box of reductil. Monthly checkups thereafter.

Hi all, looking for some advice iv been on Reductil for 9 days and its having no afect. I normaly suffer from constipation and bloating but it has got 10 times worse. When i eat my tummy gets even bigger and even though i feel stuffed im still hungry if that makes sense. Any ideas! Thanks.

Has anyone noticed confusion or forgetfullness when taking Meridia?

Hi I took Reductil and it worked really well for me. Started weight was : 85Kg and currently 70kg. It took me about 9 months to cut down the weight down.

Initially i took it as a 'miracle drug' and got discouraged when the scales did not go down fast (like 4 to 5 kg per month). After understanding how the drug works, i started to lose weight healthy.

Light is right about the neuro thing, it is a drug that make the nerve that feel the fullness of stomach 'awake' again. For week 1 (depends on your conditions) you will not feel much, weight will not drop drastically. Its a period your body is getting use to the new drug. So don't be discourage, keep taking! I had dry mouth, heart beats a little faster, but i got over in about 3 days. Then in week 2, i start noticing my food intake dropped by 20%. It is important you still continue to eat! The key here is small portion at each time and you can have as many times you want per day, as long as you can digest and burn it before you go to bed.

In week 4, i start to see the scale dropping, like 2kg. To some it is slow but it is a healthy rate. If you lose too fast, the body skin tend to sag. So be cautious.

Reductil is allow to take continuous 1 year according to the manufacturer's instruction, but my doctor told me i can take up to 2 years. You can still take it, just make sure you stop for a short term like 3 to 6 months before you go on the Reductil again.

But the most important thing i discovered from taking Reductil, is a new lifestyle, much more healthier. Not depending on the drug for lifetime. It is very effective to kick off weight lost but not intend for lifetime taking. This drug is meant for those who are very obese, whose life is endanger by excessive weight.

Hi there, just to share a bit on this area. Yes, taking Reductil will cause constipation. The last round i took cause major breakout. The body is looking good but the face is getting bad My doctor usually prescript together with Xenical, which is laxative and oil binding kind. Xenical is good but expensive, it is very effect but to me, should use with caution because you will lose control in your bowel. eg. you 'poop' while you sneeze... ya that powerful. More like having runs. Many who took this xenical had the same feedback.

Perhaps you can look into other things like detox to 'clear' off.

I understand how you feel... Me too 5ft 4 and used to be 90kg!!!!! But don't be discourage and also don't compare your body with others. Many factors contribute to the overall weight. One major thing people don't think about is their bone structure. Heard of large frame, small frame? Some have lighter density of bone thus weigh lighter though their body fat is high. Some have heavier bone (like me) weight heavier. This is condition runs in the family. Though i weigh 70kg (currently), many people saw me will say i weigh about 60kg.

Don't be discourage, continue ok? You are already making progress. Keep it up. Me too fighting the fat and keep it at bay, hopefully - 2, 3 bays away... hahaaaa...

Yes, do drink water to hydrate so you won't feel the headache and other problems. Your body is still adjusting to the new drug.

thanks so much for your words of advice! I thought the forums weren't active so have only just checked here k, again.

ok, my latest update. I've been on reductil for a month now - just last Wednesday started my 2nd pack - 15mg 1 a day.

I have to say, it's been brilliant. I've managed to loose 3kg or so in that first month and probably would have lost more if I had been strict about my diet and did more exercise! In fact, this weight lost, happened even when eating my McDs and Burger Kings! lol.

Reductil has really controlled my hunger pangs, if i think of food, i'm not bothered by it and don't feel that 'i'm hungry, what can i eat right now thing'. and I'm finding that when I do eat, I get fuller quicker and I can put down my fork and stop picking n eating. I love that.

With my 2nd pack, I had my doc check and my blood sugar and cholestorol levels have dropped. Still abit more on the latter. My BMI though has only dropped 1 to 30 (asian size bmi) but I did loose 8cm from my waist!

i'm putting this all down so that you all can hopefully feel, that this does work! I'm seriously the laziest dieter/etc person but I feel lighter, have more energy and happier in life. I hope this doesnt mean its reductil forever but for now, I feel it has been an amazing wonder pill.

Keep going with it ladies, lots of water (i still suck at that) and just let it do its job. I'm determined it will be worth it!
