today is my weigh in and I am down to 211.6 - a 3 pound loss this week. I was aiming to be down to 210 by today but I had a small loss last week for whatever reason, but I'll take 211.6! I've been eating pretty good - yesterday was really the only time I had some junk - I drank two Bud Lights and had a small handful of peanuts at the Nationals game yesterday. Maybe I burned the icky calories off by running up and down the steps to our seats (we were a couple rows behind the visitors dugout - kind of a hike!) and making the trek to and from our car. Honestly, even though it smelled great, I wasn't even tempted by the food there. Not even by the italian sausage and peppers - one of my favs! I'm going to my neighbors' house tomorrow for a cookout but I have gone to cookouts since being on my diet and I have done okay. I'll just save an allowance for a glass of wine or two and have a burger without the bun and some veggies and I'll be okay. This past week, I only worked out once but I was super busy with two convalescing kitties - I had both of them spayed on Thursday. Then there was the bird debacle - I had a house finch fly into my house, got stunned, caught her, caged her, and then set her free again the next day. Just call me Dr. Doolittle! LOL! I'm like Ace Ventura in the scene where he stretches his arms out and bellows and all the animals come out of hiding and flock to him! LOL!

I see Dr. Anchors tomorrow morning - I am so excited!

Goals for the upcoming week: work out more and drink more water! I was reading my Muscle and Fitness Hers and I may try their 4 week beginner workouts. I'm not feeling the Body Pump classes because I always end up getting there late and I am kind of bored with them.

Violingirl, you are losing fast! Keep it up! How's the phen-pro combo working for you?

WOW thats awesome! I am so excited for you that you are going to see the DR today. You have to let me now how it went!! I go back in 2 weeks. And so far I think I have lost about 22 lbs. So I am hoping by then it will be about 28! The phenpro is working really well for me but I sometimes forget to take the zoloft!! But I can definitely tell that it is still working well for me. We went to a wedding this past weekend and went out for dinner, and the food was so good, but I really had no desire for it which was weird because it was my favorite thing in the world - crab cakes. So I really think that the phenpro works well together.
Thats so funny about the bird! Everyone says I am like Dr. Doolittle. i am always trying to save every animal. I love animals! I worked at an animal hospital for like 6 years ( I almost became a vet) and people always brought in baby wildlife, and one time someone brought in a tiny baby squirrel. I took it home and fed it and set it free in my backyard a few weeks later. I loved that little guy!
Tell me how it goes today!!

Congratulations all. I didn't get on the scale this holiday weekend - I didn't overeat, but didn't really follow a diet (went to 2 bbqs). I haven't been working out but have been working like a dog doing yard work and gardening - so hopefully that counts for something. Violin Girl - our yard is often visited by lots of critters, like deer & black bear. This year we had some unusual visits by a whitish colored coyote and for the first time we came across a baby squirrel too. It just scampered up to my son & his friend and sat on his sneaker. It showed no fear and was the cutest thing. My son wanted to keep it but I made him return it to the area we think it came from. I have a german shephard who HATES squirrels & the little guy wouldn't have last 5 seconds in my yard.

Oh my goodness! That is so cute! I loved my little squirrel, and wish I could have kept him forever but I couldnt do that - I felt too bad. But he was so sweet, he followed me everywhere, and ran up my pants and would sit on my shoulder. When I went to set him free he wouldnt let go of me, and kept following me, but finally he saw another squirrel and was curious so it worked out.
Thats weird about the coyote because I know I have seen them in my yard too! And I definitely hear them at night. Its really erie sounding. I have a little chihuahua and I have been watching her like a hawk! Shes only 3 lbs, and lately I have noticed big birds eying her also! I have 2 other big dogs, and I dont worry about them too much, but I know if coyotes are hungry enough they will eat anything!

Oh about the gardening - I planted my rose bushes this weekend and did some other yard work, and I know that definitely counts! That is hard work, and is a good workout! I can really feel it. In fact yesterday is when I did all my yard work, and today the scale said I lost 1 1/2 lbs! Probably from drinking so much water and sweating, but I know it was a good workout too! So that definitely counts!!!

Violingirl -- I just got back from Dr. Anchors' office and he is da BOMB! I can't wait to read the literature that he gave me - he was super easy to talk to. He gave me a 100 count script for phen 37.5 mg and prozac 20 mg. He said to come see him after I am finished with those or sooner if I need to. He's doing away with his internal medicine practice as of Aug. 1st and will focus only on bariatrics so it shouldn't be too hard to get a follow up appt. He told me to keep in touch with him via e-mail and then we spent about 10 minutes discussing knitting and crocheting! He does both! How cool is that?

I'm relieved to have found a doctor that "gets it." I feel like this time, with his help, I'm going to actually make goal!

Also, yard work burns a ton of calories! I have had some of my biggest losses the morning after I have slaved away in the yard. I found out that push mowing the lawn for 90 minutes burns 678 calories! And, that's not counting weed eating and weeding the flower beds. I will actually feel my pants getting looser as I work. If you think about it, back in the day, people worked in the fields all day and then had a hearty (and fattening) dinner and none of those folks were fat.

I ate very little at the cookout yesterday, but there weren't any healthy offerings. The fare was Portugese. The only thing that was healthy were the olives and wine. I wasn't all that hot and bothered about eating anyway.

thats so good! I loved him, I play violin obviously, and he told me he made his own violin andwhen I go in next time he wants me to play it!!! THat cracked me up. I wonder why he told me I had to come back in in 6 weeks. I got 60 pills of each.... Maybe because youve been on the phen before. Cause I havent.
Thats ok at BBQ's I think. You should be able to have some bad stuff once in a while, i think its just how much you take in! I feel that way at least.

I fessed up and told him that I ordered phen online and had taken my last one the morning I went to seem him. He was cool about it but he went into telling me about how they scam you - websites taking advantage of folks. So, I told him about some of the stories about people getting their phen in baggies and socks and getting fake stuff. I think another reason why he gave me so much is because to him, it looked as if I was well on my way. I told him that I had started at 232 in April, so he was impressed with my progress thus far. He was joking with me saying, "You don't need me!"

So are you going to play your violin for the good doctor? LOL I'm going to send him some yarn and a knitted felted purse pattern to try, LOL!

You know, when he switches to bariatrics only in August, he's planning on taking his clients to lunch - are you going to go? I certainly would! Razz

Oh my gosh! That is so funny!! Did he tell you how he goes out to eat and just tells the waitress to bring him small portions? Or he told me if I dont do that, ask for a box immediately and put more than half of the food into it to take home. That was a good idea too! Yea I told him I would play it for him, I think its so funny! I think thats a pretty good idea him taking his clients to lunch - i guess to teach them his ways. Hes a really good guy. I think he will be proud of how I have done so far. I mean from the day I met him, I have completely changed everything. He said so much stuff that made so much sense to me and I was like why did I not think of this before!!

You're on your way to becoming one of his success stories.....no doubt he will be amazed at your progress thus far. You know you can e-mail him and let him know how you're doing, right?

I feel like I have someone to be accountable to - like I really want to lose a good amount of weight by the time I go back and see him. I feel like he's our support and his knowledge and the meds are our tools.

I go back to see him in about 14 weeks - at a minimum, I would like to be 28 pounds lighter (2lbs/wk). So that's my short-term goal. I would love to have lost more by then but I am trying to be realistic. Wink

I think you could definitely do that!! (28 lbs) And maybe more! I hope by the time I see him I lose at least 4 more lbs, maybe 5. I also really like weighing myself everyday. It keeps me from going off track. I keep myself in check, and as soon as I wake up I want to see if I lost more!!

It's like Christmas every morning! Well, except on the mornings you haven't lost or actually gained! Egad!

I weighed this morning - I am the same. Ah well. Better than a gain.

I am thinking that I will be down more than 28 lbs. by August, but I was making my goal a conservative one - "just in case." Trust me, I worked out all the scenarios based upon average rate of loss -- from 2/wk to 4/wk! I told you have obsessive compulsive tendencies!

SO I have been on PHENTERMINE for about 6 months i feel that the results have been great not as much as I would want to have lost already but atleast im losing and not gaining. I do follow the LOW GI diet which sometimes is super hard since I love cookies and yummy sweets! Very Happy

I am so glad to have found this place to kind of be able to talk about being on phentermines and maybe even learn the do's and don'ts....

You are doing great! Keep going - What are you eating everyday? I am eating about 1200 calories a day, and that is really helping me! Are you drinking like 100 oz of water? Thats important too!
