I was wondering, I have been weight training three times a week for 14 weeks now. I do see some improvement, but do get discouraged because I think that I should be seeing more of an improvement. I have been combining my weight training with a low/no carb diet, except that I consume about three glasses of wine a night. Would the wine have a negative impact on my weight training ? Is this no carb diet any good or should I consider another diet ? Thanks for your help.

The 3 glasses of wine per day will give you some empty calories but I would not say that will have a very negative impact on your progress.
Lob carb diets can work, however when you exercise no carbs diet will not give you lots of energy.

After 14 weeks you need to start with another exercise routine. Change the exercises, weights, intensity. Also I recommend to take a week off before starting the new program.

I really think that the three glasses of wine might have a negative impact on you diet program. A few weeks ago I read in a newspaper that you shouldn't eat anything after 6 pm and that you should also do without any alcohol. As a start it would be good for you to cut down on alcohol at night I think. Or are you already able to see any more improvement after having done the no carb diet for a longer period of time?

Well, I have been reading up on the Atkins diet, and wine is not allowed during induction, because it adds to carbs and hampers with the lipolysis / ketosis thing (not sure of the difference at the moment),

I would suggest saving the wine for the weekend. Treat yourself once a week, and spend the rest of the time concentrating on losing that fat and building some muscle.

Also, remember to mix up your weight training workouts a bit, as you body will get used to the same routine, and you will gain less muscle.
