I'm a 54 year old male and I have been on a lot of diets I need to be guided in the right direction can some one help me please!!!!!!!!

What's your height and weight?

What does your current diet consist of?

Like tanker said, what diets have you tried? Which one was the easiest for you?

Why are you failing at the diets? What is the #1 obstacle?

where do you tend to hold the weight? Weight distribution can indicate different hormones that are not working properly. Have you tried a cleanse?

I know exactly what you are referring to, regarding being put through many diets that is. I myself have a number of health issues and family health issues. Some of my family members have thyroid problems, kidney problems, insulin resistance, plain "fat" problems, hormonal imbalances, etc... I spent almost 1 year working a few different weight loss plans that have actually helped me tremendously. It took me almost a full year of research through reading and trial and error before I found a few plans / programs that worked for me. Feel free to check out the free site I have assembled so that I may share it with other struggling dieters like myself.
Oh yea, I almost forgot, in that year of working a few different weight loss plans I have lost 40 lbs and feel GREAT. Smile

I've found keeping yourself accountable by keeping track of everything you eat really helps!. There are some websites like fitday.com that can help. You just type in what you eat and it will give you graphs of exactly where you are and what you need to do. It boils down to simple math when you think about it.

I tried it for a while and lost weight steadily...it really makes you think when you have to add another 50 calories to the list if you eat that little Hershey's kiss...It's those little snacks and bites that push you over the edge and run your caloric intake up over where you need to be. You find yourself pouring exactly 5oz of wine, for example, instead of just topping off the glass as you feel like it. It's hard to realize how much you eat when you don't have a way to keep track of it.

Think "math" and it will work!

We do need more information to help you OP!

But to be going on with, you need to get a plan about how you're going to lose the weight and you need to stick to it.

You should have such headings about current weight and goal weight, exercise and how often a week can you fit it in to your schedule etc.

Start like that and you have a far better chance of making it.

Please forget about products and pills - in the first place people don't get
overweight by eating pills and supplements but food. Second you're sefimage of yourself is poor.

I think perhaps another diet isn't exactly what you need. Maybe you should try changing your lifestyle.

Hi I am Anna,
I had struggled for years with weight and did not want to give up my favorite foods! I was busy in Real Estate and wondered one day why my hips were so large I just did not think about what I was eating.
My vanity drove me to look for answers and I started to eat certain foods together , instead of dieting, or going on fads or drugs I learned that if I ate certain foods together such as protein and veggies and cut out the carbs I would not starve but I would naturally change the chemistry and hormone structure. I ate a lot of chicken and fish with a lot of salads and just cut out the junk and found it worked for me. As long as I don't eat more than 2 food groups together I loose weight and maintain and never gain.
I think they used to call it the 40/30/30 fat burning system. IT WORKS!
I have a few receips which are favorites. Eating this way has a cleansing effect on the body. It is about digestion. Don't know how the body is going to break up 4 or 5 different kinds of foods while you sleep. Keep it simple eat simple and the weight will drop off. I can share a few of my meals for free if anyone wants them. Best of Health for you. Anna
